Description

Warning: Any mod adding new creatures requires a new world to be generated, otherwise they will not spawn (since they were not generated as a part of a world's population).

Creature description
A gigantic cyan-scaled snake-like creature. It is magical and can spew ice shards. These monsters can live for thousands of years. Their scales are akin to metal, and can be used to produce tough and light clothing and armor.

Frost wyrms from this mod have iron-like scales, that can be turned into "wyrmscale" clothes/armor, a true reward for killing and butchering a wyrm.

Their teeth are also metal-like, very sharp and can cut through armor.
- They are also not targetable by traps!
- They are also no longer "item stealers", so they don't run off with a sock as soon as they spawn.

In other aspects, they are similar to vanilla dragons.

Creature population
Megabeast

This is based on one of creatures from my old Genesis mod. I've decided to release each creature separately, so you could pick and choose what you want.

If you like the mod, you will make me happy if you rate it and share it with your friends. And remember, Losing is Fun!

This mod simply adds a new creature (with related bodyparts and inorganic materials). It needs vanilla materials/bodypart definitions to function.

Compatible with my "Red dragon" mod.

I had my first frost wyrm show up while I was under siege, and while it did break the siege by killing 70 some goblins before dying, I didn't see it doing any breath attack or webbing, which it was described as having when it arrived. Is it supposed to have those abilities?

Once more bringing up that Frost Wyrms have no wealth multiplier for goods produced. Ex: frost wyrm meat is as valuable as that of a cat. Not sure if intentional.

hello! first to all, thanks for this mod is awesome, i have my first contact with them and they are tough, one of my legendaries died but was a great battle, i have a question how good is the scale armor compare to another metal likes the steel or adamantine?

Nah, no stockpile or burrowing (I never use corpse stockpiles or burrows). My butcher's shop isn't linked to any stockpiles, so it should have auto-butchered it like its done with other corpses before, but it didn't. When I tried to enact the butcher task manually it just said I didn't have any butcherable corpses. No idea why.

That could be some dwarf fortress weirdness. Was the corpse stored in a stockpile in a burrow with the dwarf/workshop attempting the butchering?

The creature doesn't have CAN_LEARN/INTELLIGENT, so it should be perfectly butcherable. In fact you can see items made out of it in arena and worldgen.

How do you get the scales to use for armor? My dwarves just killed one of these things and all it dropped was a corpse that couldn't be butchered

Somewhat related. Frost wyrms do not seems to have a wealth multiplier for goods produced. Checked the raws as well and couldn't find it. Is this intentional or not really? I don't personally need it but it feels odd for it not to have any at all.

Yep, that's the whole point. Leather and material properties transfer to items directly.

Question, if maybe you know. Do the properties of the skin/leather transfer to normal clothing as well or only leather armor? If say, I make a wyrmscale dress, will my civilian dwarf receive some protection?
