Freight to Fort William Aluminium Smelter and Pulp Mill

Description
The scenario starts near Spean Bridge which is a few miles from Fort William - you are driving a freight train from Inverness to the Aluminium Smelter works near Fort William and the wood pulp mill a few miles down the West Highland Line.

You will first drop 3 wagons off at the Aluminium Smelter....then run into Fort William where you will run round the remaining wagons before taking them to the Pulp Mill......you will finish the scenario by running light engine to Fort William MPD where you will leave the loco to be refuelled before it's next roster.

You will need to follow the on-screen instructions carefully to complete the scenario successfully and stop accurately at the required locations.

Due to a faulty signal on the Route you will need to disable "end on SPAD" to complete this scenario.

Duration - 75 minutes approx.

Andy

PS. I will try to create a version of this scenario with working ETMS/RETB, will publish separately if I can get it working.

Very imaginative and interesting. It has inspired me to write a return journey scenario called " Empties to Mossend ", also available on Workshop.

Hi David - thanks for the comment, I never did get around to creating the RETB enabled version.....something for the "to do" list one day :-)

Many thanks again, Andy. Another excellent scenario from you! Very grateful for all your hard work. This was a pleasant change from working the full length of the "Extension". Referring to your PS above, have you managed to produce the version with the working RETB yet? Regards, David.

Just ran your scenario and enjoyed it right up to dropping off the logs at the pulp mill. It could have been appropriate to end it there or rather (as someone mentioned) taken some empty wagons back to Fort William. Thanks for sharing.

Actually at the time that I created this scenario not many people actually knew how to set up the ETMS system, it is hardly intuitive and the tutorials did not exist at the time......I'm not smart enough to have figured it out myself. There are clearly no faulty signals anywhere in TS2015 so apologies for the misleading comment.

Although this shunting scenario is interesting enough, I am turning thumbs down on it because its author apparently has not bothered to understand either this route's unique token system or the basics of coupling and uncoupling instructions. Moreover, I very much doubt that a faulty signal affected the ending.

Thanks Nexus - did nit think of that, it is a bit annoying when you have to wait a long time for the scenery to load - Andy

Very nice scenario, Thanks : )

(and one small hint - try to add a waypoint neat starr point to force scenery loading before start scenario)

Thanks for the comment and the hint.....I did think about adding the bringing of empty wagons into the scenario, maybe I can create a new one involving sending the loco out from the MPD the following day to collect the empties........working on a Deltic Excursion for this Route first, when finished I will take a look - Andy
