Kalypso's Fun with Emblems (Update: Chequered emblems!)

Description
Welcome kings and queens,
I, Kalypso, possibly the ancestor of a certain flag-loving physicist, invite you to the very first edition of "Fun with Emblems"

This is the very first mod I have ever created for a game, originally just for myself, as I love to create my own coats of arms for all my cities, churches, baronies etc.. But even with Cat's gorgeous Coat of Arms Emblem I kept missing things to recreate real coats of arms, or that I just wanted to have, so I started creating this mod and since it's become so extensive I thought I'd polish it up and share it with you.

All emblems are very vanilla compatible. Apart from a few objects and animals that were discovered/created later, everything fits into the game. The emblems all come either from real coats of arms or from heraldry source websites. There are no emblems from film/TV/books and there won't be any. Just pure heraldry.
So what do you get with this mod? Emblems, of course. More precisely, emblems from 9 different categories:

1) Animals
Many new animals from all over the world, not always historically correct (a platypus was certainly not known outside Australia at the time, but so what). Otherwise many new animals from Africa such as giraffes, zebra, rhinoceros, hyena or Asia such as Malayan tapir, and tiger. But also more insects, small animals, marine mammals and more.

2) Mythical creature
Here, too, a wide range, e.g. from the Greek cerberus and medusa, via the Vietnamese Phaya Naga and the Nordic horse Sleipnir, to the British Yale

3) Nature
Many new specific flowers such as daffodils, orchids, carnations, edelweiss, lavender, lilac, lily of the valley and many more, and also some plants originating from outside Europe, such as cacti, agaves, aloe vera, baobab or plumeria and ylang-ylang flowers.

4) Figures
In addition to some Christian figures, some labourers, craftsmen and citizens, perfect for town coats of arms.

5) Man-made
Here you can find new musical instruments like the bagpipe, some weapons like the morning star and various pole weapons, but also non-European ones like the Japanese Kama sickle or the Indian Katar. With some agricultural and crafting tools, your hard-working towns and guilds can immortalise their pride on their coat of arms. There are also all kinds of other objects.

6) Pattern
More fur patterns such as other ermine patterns or a Kürsch pattern. Plus various bars, bends, crosses etc.

7. knots, crosses, ornaments and symbols
Various heraldic knots from Asia and Europe, but also e.g. musical notes. Display your hymn on your coat of arms!

And brand new the following three categories:

8.) counterchange colours
Included are figures and divided colours. Finally create your own coats of arms like these without having to use a code:

9) halved figures
Coats of arms like these are now also possible:

and

10 chequered emblems
no more masking is needed to create the Moravian eagle, along with other typical heraldic animals in a checkerboard pattern, including lion, griffin, bull and bear.

and finally there are 60 new background patterns.

The category names are included in all languages supported by the base game. These have been translated using programmes, so if a native speaker knows more accurate terms, please contact me.

I plan to add individual emblems from time to time in the future. I also have ideas and template material for themed updates. Here are my ideas so far:

You can vote here [forms.gle]on which package interests you the most and should be implemented first.

As this is mainly a graphical addition, the mod should get along with almost all other mods, which are not a total conversation or a massive change of the CoA Creator system

Explicitly tested other CoA mods:
Cat's Coat of Arms Emblem 1.11 ✓
Patrum Scuta ✓
Patrum Scuta Expanded ✓
Better CoA Designer ✓

Explicitly tested total conversation mods:
AGOT ✓

(Status: 07.07.24)

If any of you have tried this mod together with a total conversations mod and everything works fine, I would appreciate a short message in the comments, then I can add it here as tested.
The same applies to other CoA mods (for mods that affect all other areas of the game, I basically assume compatibility, an extra message is not necessary)

Finally, I would like to recommend Cat's Coat of Arms Emblem. FwE was originally created for me. Since I have been playing with Cat's collection for a long time, you will hardly find any elements in my mod that already exist in Cat's mod. I can't exclude that there are some very similar figures, because I haven't checked everything, but on the whole my mod can be seen as a supplement to Cats.

cool, I play the vast majority of my games as a custom character so these coats of arms add to that

Really nice mod

Nice update! Loving the saints pack, I was always frustrated when hitting the randomize button on CoA for temple buildings and getting garbage as well as not having enough variants in emblems for making each temple CoA unique.

Beautiful additions from this mod, job very well done. There is an interesting emblem from a medieval German peasant revolt, the Bundschuh. The original emblem probably wouldn't fit a CoA (it was designed for a pennant) but the emblem at the bottom of this poster might be useful if you ever feel like adding it:

Great mod. So many great animals to pick from. If I can make a suggestion though snapdragon flowers would be a great addition. Could be used in conjunction with dogs or dragons for an interesting CoA.
