Description
[Hello there, Idra here. This map was made before I was able to properly publish maps, so masalt's profile is attached to this map. This map is mine, however. Masalt helped me publish it and even make some small edits. Thanks masalt!]

This map was originally made for Mikeastro's "2 Steps Back" competition (in collaboration with Thinking with Portals). The theme was to make a map entirely in vanilla PeTI.

- The pedestal button next to the glass is antitrapping and is not a part of the solution
- The surface above the first reciever is also antitrapping, and not at all used in the intended solush.
- No ninja moves (including moving a cube through a fizzler while it's aiming at the reciever)
- Neither cubes autorespawn.

Enjoy if you dare

- Idracoos

(Masalt's P.S.
This map is freakin' hard, but it's also my favorite Idra map as of yet. So subtle, so genius. I really hope it wins, or at least gets close. I'd say it's around 6/10... So, good luck you guys!)

I spent 2 hours being stuck on this back at the end of 2024. I came back today and managed to clean it up in one hour. The puzzle is outstanding, despite some of the issues with the angles and line-ups, which are a natural result of the competition. Definitely one of the best 2 lazer cube puzzles in the workshop.

I don't like those angles, hope they get fixed in the bee/hammer version. Outstanding puzzle otherwise, would've spent an hour or so less if I knew they were intended :steamfacepalm:

congratulations idracoos. There where some very, very good puzzles in the competition, but yours is sublime and a deserved winner

Honest question - should I wait with playing for a BEE or hammer version? I want the best puzzle experience, considering it's so good as I heard it is..

In the following walkthrough video, I’ve taken the liberty of using hi/lo portals on the laser input/output, just to make life easier. I also use the anti-trapping “above the first reciever” to make sure I don’t have to readjust the set up at one point, if it’s slightly off, but I don’t use it to skip a move intended solution ?
I’ve not played all the puzzles yet, but I’m sure your map will do well in the competition, because it’s excellent.
