Description
I've gathered as many cities as I could find from Blender/Sketchfab.

A reminder...these aren't meant to look good up close...they're for background images. Get creative.

how to put these cities on the surface like in the screenshot, all my ships hover over the surface of the planet and do not move anymore?

They are a spaceship. If they are connected to a planet gravitationally, unless you restart the game or speed it up too quickly, they will stay

You probably got the answer by now but you just edit the orbit of the moon and earth closer to their barycenter

Yes, now connect the systems with wormholes and you can role play a little.
