Positive Nuclear Energy

Description
This mod makes environmentalists view nuclear energy positively.

In the modern era, the stigma against nuclear energy is dissipating at an exponential rate. Your average environmentalist is more likely to understand that nuclear energy is a clean, safe, bountiful, and long-lasting source of energy.

A nuclear reactor works by putting pellets of uranium close together inside rods of special alloys called "fuel rods", which are sometimes surrounded by moderators like graphite. A process called "nuclear fission" then occurs between an available neutron and the nucleus of a uranium atom, which causes instability. The result of such instability is a release of kinetic energy, which is converted into heat. This heat then boils a bunch of water into steam, and the steam is used as a power source.

Yes, nuclear reactor is a glorified steamer. The energy being used is in the form of steam. We are boiling water for energy. And, in fact, nuclear power plants are statistically safer than both solar and wind energy, and also produces a lot more energy.

Environmentalists and scientists are very familiar with this truth in 2024, and thus, the stigma caused from the Chernobyl disaster is becoming a distant memory. If you would like to know why Chernobyl happened, and why it would never happen again, I recommend watching the HBO miniseries, "Chernobyl." I also recommend watching some videos from the popular science educator, Kyle Hill, who effectively breaks down why nuclear energy is the future of clean energy, and why we should be fully investing in it.

The important thing to understand for the layman is that the technology that brought you the nuclear bomb is not the same technology that brought you the nuclear power plant. They both achieve different things with radioactive elements. A nuclear reactor cannot explode like a nuclear bomb, just like a nuclear bomb cannot exclusively produce steam for energy. The real world behaves differently than science-fiction.

For the sake of realism, the environmentalist impact should be extremely minimum, as there is still much confusion amongst the general public about nuclear energy. However, I merely switched the negative number to a positive. I'm not a modder. I may update this in the future to display a minimum positive impact.
