Description
Stats and features
Tier one scout sub
Priced: 4,000 mk
Cargo capacity: 4? Crates
Size: 17x15m

  • 2 Small turret hardpoints
    2 Coilguns pre-installed
  • An Electrical discharge coil
Located on the roof, fired via the nav terminal
  • A biomechanical fire control system
The majority of the Clot's weapons are entirely automatic. Controlled by the colony of ballast flora ebedded in the pile of wreckage that was once a cargo pod it's hauling out front.
However, despite the success of it's implementation the system requires careful management by a trained operator to mitigate the constant friendly fire incidents. Turns out the sub-sapient plant colony does not like being enslaved.
  • And a Medical fabricator
    With linked locker

In game Description
A small lift vehicle that accedentally picked up an additional crew member one fateful day. Since then it's been modified with a couple coilguns and the necessary infrastructure to let the thalimus colony handle defending the vehicle and to only occasionally kill any crew that get near it or the guns.

Notes

I'm really happy how this little guy turned out. Should be fun to run with all the ♥♥♥♥ going on in it and might even be a viable solo sub if you're a good enough pilot.

Sub was too small for my usual flood management system, if you'd like automatic drain you'll have to wire it ingame
That seems to be a deeper issue with the game's autoturret AI, It only likes shooting when it can guarantee a hit. I could probably tune it to be better but I consider it a good tradeoff for 24/7 crewless over watch
I already did it on a tier 3, the Wootten
The supercap in the cockpit is an "emergency discharge" dump capacitor, that's why it's labelled that and is cosmetically different. It discharges the guns capacitors to keep them from firing.

The supercap in the cockpit also seems to never charge properly.

it would be cool to see this idea on a larger sub as well.

This ship is really cool. but it does not seem to drain at all on its own without manually opening up the lower doors.

The Thalamus also doesn't seem to shoot targets as often as is needed, only firing quick potshots without sustained fire.

ah yes, a mobile beacon outpost

Many such cases

I am not sure how you got this to work nor how you put a Thalamus in a mason jar and taped it to a crane, but since it works, I won't question it.

Probably not, that is a very specific configuration

Are you ever going to make a sub that has the bridge on the bottom so the captain can spot wrecks by looking downwards?

I messed up with the new layers system, it should work now
