RE2: Upgradeable SV starter - Omicron's Promise

Description
Omicron's Promise is an extremely upgradeable starter SV. To keep her unlock level down she comes only with the bare bones equipment for level 10. However she will perform well as an early game miner because of good thrust levels and her large storage volume.

Starter equipment:

- 4x mechanical drill
- 7266 vol. Harvest Controller
- Light Gatling Turret
- 2750 vol. Ammo Controller
- Fridge
- Armor Locker
- Oxigen Station
- Mobile Constructor
- Clone Chamber

Once you get to using the vessel there are many upgrades available. All upgrade positions are marked with LCD's inside and outside of the ship. These can be toggled with a switch in the P-menu.

***UPGRADE PATH***

- No added CPU Extenders: Trauma Station, optional passenger seats

- 1 Basic CPU Extender: Pentaxid Tank, Basic Shield or Warpdrive. To meet power needs you should add a basic small generator next to the improved one.

- 2 Basic CPU Extenders: Add the shields or jump drive, depending on what you did not add before in the above step. Replace generators with 1 advanced SV generator.

Optionally at this step: swap the detector for an advanced one or add a food processor.

- 1 Improved CPU Extender: Add all 4 small shield upgrades and swap the mechanical drills for laser drills.

- 2 Improved CPU Extenders: Add the advanced detector or food processor, whichever one you skipped before. At this point you can upgrade the shield and jump drive to the advanced versions for more shields and warping between systems. You can use the remaining cpu to swap 9 of the thrusters out to plasma versions.

- 1 Advanced CPU Extender: You can now unlock the full ship. Every thruster can be a plasma version, and all the upgrades can be mounted. The only choice you have to make is whether you want 2 extra turrets and an advanced detector or if you want to forgo one of the turrets for the 50 km Long Range Radar.

Ofcourse you may choose a different upgrade path, however the one described above will work guaranteed with current RE2 CPU limits.

*edit* If you wish to install the front shield boosters, or anything else in this slot you must add 1 block behind each drill to keep the ship air tight. Additionally if you wish to add 2 advanced extenders you could do so by removing the sloped blocks next to the current extender area.

I think the issue was due to a missing block somewhere after damage. I had the same issue, but after I repaired it using the repair station, it worked fine again for me

I dunno; I've moved forward since then so I haven't come back to it in a bit. Putting a cockpit inside worked out fine, though I have to crouch to walk past it and get out of the ship.

Empyrion is weird XD

I've not really been able to replicate your issue so I think you must have accidentally removed a structure block somewhere

Nope; left everything completely as is and followed the upgrade path step by step because I was a little impressed by the decision decision but the drills are completely untouched.

did you touch the drills by any chance Daynen?
Daynen Drakeson 21 Dec, 2024 @ 12:06am
Meh, I just pulled out the chair and put a cockpit in the cockpit. XD

Okay so I did a couple upgrades, being careful not to remove any hull blocks yet after double checking everything is sealed and fueled, I'm freezing as I reach upper atmosphere. Haven't touched the front shield boosters as described so I'm a bit vexed.

@maerkuz I have not played the atlantis scenario, but if it does not contain RE 2 blocks, it might be the displays in the cockpit area.

I'm playing the Atlantis scenario and wanted to try this. Unfortunately the BP shows as red and that there is a "Forbidden" block. Works fine in "Vanilla" RE2, just not the Atlantis scenario.
Any Idea what the "Forbidden" block might be?
I have no idea what to even look for.
