Blue is a Sonic fan character owned by Kingdom Castle Animations, created specifically to appear as a playable character in Super Smash Flash.

Similarly to the case of Blade, Blue also originates from the Sonic fan characters created by Newgrounds user, Equinox-Twilight, particularly deriving from the other fan character Flare the Hedgehog (said to be the "brother" of Sonic the Hedgehog) who mainly appeared in the KA Omake Flash animated series.
User Topcat was also in charge of redesigning Blue to be completely unique specifically for the game, so he could be told apart from Flare; the name "Blue" may have been also be thought up by Topcat himself, but this is not confirmed.
Something that has never been clarified is whether or not Blue was intended to be in the game that eventually became Super Smash Flash, which was not initially projected to be a Super Smash Bros. fan game but as a platformer action-oriented game starring Blade.
This also makes Blue's relationship with Blade a mystery, though they have since been depicted as alter egos and friendly rivals in future works.

Blue's ultimate design came after Super Smash Flash was finally completed and released to public: he is a blue hedgehog with loose but long quills who wears red gloves and shoes with black accents and who wields a characteristic sword resembling a flamberg-type rapier.
Much like characters in the Sonic canon, he is able to use the Spin Dash and the Spin Jump, and he can also create and manipulate fire.

During the era of Johnyc…

When the Titans was on earth, Blue was a student of the hedgehog academia, he was the slowest swordman of this academia.
His parents asked Blue many times to give up his sword, but Bleu refused because he Believe that he can be one of the most stronger swordman hedgehog of the world.
Blue was a big fan of Johnyc the hero.
He would like to become a hero like him.
Every night he whatched on the TV the achievements of Johnyc.
One day, during the attack of Groundcity by the Titan, when the master of titans attacked the hedgehog academia he was stopped by Johnyc.
All the students and the people was saved by Sindy.
When Johnyc finished to beat the titans he joined Sindy to know if she's safe with the people.
And Bleu take this opportunity to ask to Johnyc if he can be his student.
But all the students and the teachers were laughing because they know Bleu has no talent and he is too slow.
When Johnyc saw all laughing he decided to take Bleu like his student, and he promised her that you will be the most faster stronger swordman of the world.
Since this day Bleu become his student with Blade, Storm and Zack.
Together they have eleminate all the titans on the earth and save many people.

During the era of Dark Cynhoj…

After the event call "The Sad Day" Blue decide to create a revolutionary army to fight the Dark Cynhoj empire.
Blue become with Blade, Zack and Master Ryu the hero of the earth.
Together they defeated the Infinite empire, beat all the Super.
After Blue tried all is heart to change Dark Cynhoj, they decided to kill Dark Cynhoj in the final battle.
Because Dark Cynhoj become every years more dangerous and more powerfull.
