Description
Hi. Welcome to snakes mod. A short map-pack with custom sounds. You are a captured prisoner of the combine. You must make your way through the underground to your freedom.
Update* (2/28/2011) fixed the ai disabled error.
Update* (4/30/2012) Thanks to all for the review and comments. This was the first map-pack/mod I made, so its understandingly crude and lacking. It was sitting incomplete for a few months but I eventually decided to buck up and finish it, perhaps a bit too quickly. Overall it was a fun experience, and I improved a lot. I hope to make another short mappack in the future, but not a sequel.
Requirements
  • Half-Life 2 (+ Episode One, Episode Two)
You should mount them anyway, because assets that are included in Garry's Mod doesn't have music or voice-over.

Recommendations
To avoid CTD(Crash To Desktop) or frame drop, please follow these instructions:
  • Use the 'x86-64' branch of Garry's Mod if you are using 64-bit OS (You would already using 64-bit OS).
  • Disable or unsubscribe add-ons you don't use.
  • (only if the game is still broken) Factory reset Garry's Mod.
I didn't experience any frame drops or CTD while testing this map, so if you experienced any, that might be your environment's problem.

I personally recommend you to also subscribe SC Tools for better experience.
If you don't subscribe SC Tools, you won't have automatic map transitions. You can load the next map manually, though.
Warning
When the map changes, your weapons won't be preserved because the original mapper manually invoked 'map <next map>' for level transition.
Disclaimer
I only test map(s) with Sandbox gamemode with Singleplay environment. I do not guarantee that this add-on will work with any gamemode or Multiplay environment.

I didn't make these maps. I just ported these maps to Garry's Mod. All credits should go to original author, snakeboyeric.

I've noticed that on map 4 where you have to look for a key, it's pretty well hidden, but it's hanging near the doorway on a wall inside a boarded-up room. I also noticed at the beginning of map 2 that it seems almost impossible to break the glass to the button without using so-called "super-guns" or "admin weapons".

Thank you for the report. I nerfed the tripmine area.

The invisible explosion was from landmine hidden under water. While other mines can be removed legitimately, the landmine cannot be removed because its 'hitbox' is interfered by water.

But since the damaging area were nerfed, you can just ignore it and proceed.

On the final map, in the hallway, you are supposed to go through the laser-tripped mines section. The reason why this is nearly impossible to pass without noclipping is that even if you manage to not touch the mines' lasers by jumping/crouching, the mines still explode and kill you anyways. Even if you manage to clear the hallway of the mines by pressing the interaction button near them, you can still be killed by hidden/invisible explosions when you try to proceed further.

The lever is locked by default, and there was no 'Unlock' input to the lever. So I added 'Unlock' output to the 'Flashlight' trigger. If you pass through the trigger, you'll see message about flashlight, and the lever will be unlocked.

I am stuck on the second map, at the gate with the lever. Considering that there are no walkthrough videos that cover this mod, I guess that to progress to the next area without noclipping, I need to interact with the lever to open the gate. However, the lever did not move at all nor the gate would open, leaving me stuck there.
