Jordan Spreader - Utah Belt

Description
To SMRY, elENblef, and whatever other names you choose to go by:

I don't know why you have tried to steal credit for this model, which I have spent over three months creating for a friend of mine, by copying two screenshots you obtained from the Railroader Discord server and posting them on Twitter/X on July 17, 2024 with the claim that the model was "Gramps [SMRY's] older work ... soon to re-arrive inside RLWS," subsequently hiding or flagging as spam any replies calling you out on your dishonesty.

I don't know why you responded to my repeated attempts to civilly contact you about this over the following days with public derision and mockery, even publicly posting my personal contact information without my permission, when I have done absolutely nothing to you either prior to this incident or as a result of it.

If you ever decide to take responsibility for your flagrant attempts to steal credit for my hard work, you've already publicly shown that you have a means of contacting me if you so choose. I harbor no ill will towards you, I would just like you to admit your dishonesty and apologize for it. No "attacks", no "RLSS", no big spectacle, just a simple apology is all that I'm asking for. This offer is and will remain open if you are willing to take it, the one condition being that you must take it sincerely.

Otherwise, if you choose not to own up to your dishonesty, then we have nothing more to discuss - provided, of course, that this sort of thing does not occur again.

The choice is yours.

______________________________________________

The Utah Belt's heaviest piece of snow-fighting equipment, Jordan spreader MW7498 sees frequent service during the winter months as dispatchers fight to keep the tracks at Furnace Creek Pass and Cortez Point clear enough for locomotive pilot plows to take care of the rest. Originally designed to clear ditches and reshape ballast in milder weather, the Jordan also performs admirably as a snowplow if storms prove too fierce for pilot plows and flangers to handle. Despite its low operating speed of 10-15 mph, the Jordan remains the only way to reopen Cortez Point after it becomes blocked with snow.

(Lore adapted from "Fighting Winter on the Utah Belt." Model Railroader, January 2008.)

I am pleased to announce that this is my most technically complex mod to date, featuring both a detailed interior and fully animated wing plows in addition to more standard features such as proper collisions (except on the plows, which can't because they are animated), lights, snow mesh, et cetera. The above video provides a bit of a showcase of this mod, and a full list of interactable features can be found below. Though perhaps a less-typical subject, I'm honored to have been asked to model such an interesting and complex piece of equipment for the Utah Belt project, and I believe that I have done so to the best of my ability.

Features
  • Custom Light 1: Left Wing and Spotlights
  • Custom Light 2: Right Wing and Spotlights
  • Custom Light 3: Front Marker Light (red)
  • Custom Light 4: Exterior Cab Door
  • Custom Light 5: Interior Cab Door
  • Custom Model 1: Front Coupler Cover Plate

Credits
  • Gaugepunk (the truck/bogie mesh, main texture file, and some of the exterior and interior details are modified from components of official locomotives and rolling stock)

A Note on Liveries
Unfortunately, this model is not especially livery-friendly right out of the box. Most of the model is mapped to a simple yellow color gradient (both to better replicate the real model and for optimization), which allows for more effective coloration but cannot accommodate complex paint schemes. The cab lettering is simply a flat plane mapped to an image texture so customizing the markings there should be easy, but modifying more than the overall color of the unit may require some prior experience working with UV maps.

Do not redistribute this mod or any of its assets without my express permission.
Note: Unfortunately, due to the circumstances surrounding this mod, this does include members of the Utah Belt Project team.
