After the release of Roads of Power, all of my map mods would cause a crash. I basically had to redo them all from scratch, which was a big headache. I added Iberia to the my Northern Lords map and de-listed this one to lessen the workload.
I chose to de-list rather hide or outright delete the mod because some people are still subscribed to it or have favourited it. They can still play the mod if they roll the game back to a version before RoP.
I suspect that the Asia expansion DLC will cause my other maps to crash again, at which point they will be de-listed as well. Until I have a lot of spare time on my hands again to make them work with the new Asia-included map.
1. The most important part is provinces.png in map_data. You need to paint over the baronies you wish to remove in color of the impassible terrain.
2. Removing titles from 00_landed_titles in common/landed_titles.
3. Removing the affected holy sites in common/religion.
Optional:
4. Removing affected historical characters in history/characters and history/titles.
5. Removing affected bookmarks.
That's the rough outline. Feel free to ask if you have further questions.
In regard to making a similar mod of your own;
The modding discord is a good resource with a lot of helpful modders to answer questions.

The wiki has an extensive guide. But for doing something like this, you only need to be concerned with the 'Province map' and 'Landed Titles' sections.

Starmender recently posted a short guide too. He's the author of the most popular of these kinds of reduced maps. I'll repost it here.
And I'm removing the mod because I don't want to add to the list of dead mods in the workshop.
