6:50:04 - just after departing - https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3298203390 - you can see it goes with back facing forward - as appropriate - then it will reach another point of reversal and then go forward. So with no "mu" tag a bus or a tram can actually go back (in reverse mode).
As for the last car facing backwards — it was intended, as most MU KTMs I have seen were this way (so that the driver could pull back without other track worker's help) , but I have now done a little bit more research and found that it's not required really. I will later update compositions and add a non-reversed last car variant.
