The magazine used by the Type 93 is a standard Kalashnikov style steel magazine with a standard capacity whilst using the intended munition of 7.62x39mm, of 30 rounds, the reason why it has 24 rounds is by Ian's video explaining the rifle because these rounds were practically crammed into the already existing magazine design, and thereforth is unable to hold a full capacity. This of course assuming the 5.56x45mm NATO cartridge would fit in the magazine.
in the game, it's in 5.56. i don't care what the reasoning is behind it - the gun is in 5.56. this is a fact. it still doesn't excuse the incorrect 30-round capacity - the magazine holds 24 rounds.
my source is the game where this gun is from, Fallout 3
