Information for Travellers

The Bowman system contains only one gas giant with a number of moons and trojan objects, and a massive asteroid belt with three distinct rings.

Bowman has the largest known asteroid belt in Chartered Space. The belt has a combined mass of five Earth's and covers several orbits.

The sole planet is the gas giant Bowman Prime. Bowman Prime has five major and a number of minor moons plus an ice belt that is not visible due to the low luminosity of the star.

There are a number of trojan asteroids in the van and trail of Bowman Prime's orbit.

The moon Alpha is the location of a small IISS base with 3,000 occupants.

The moon Eta is the location of an archaeological expedition to record the remains of a 2,000-year-old Darrian outpost.

There are several Ling-Standard Products (LSP) stations in the system.

There is a small, itinerate belter population based out of the planetoid Koenig's Rock.

The Bowman system sits on the important Jump-1 trade Bowman Arm trade route so many starships pass through this system. Unrefined starship fuel can be harvested from the gas giant Bowman Prime, or starships friendly with either LSP or the IISS can obtain refined fuel at their stations.

Outside of the stations the Bowman system is hard vacuum, so most sophonts will require a Vac Suit or similar protection to survive.

(Note) The moon Eta is also referred to as Epsilon in some sources.

The simulation is currently stable, but that might change when running the simulation forward.
