Description
A character from my "Rescued From History" series

A young noblewoman from the late 18th century finds herself transported to the present day and seeks new lands to explore.

Make sure to read her bio for details on her story!

Aurélie is a master archer with a (somewhat obsessive) love for nature and the outdoors, but she also has a brilliant mind for science and does woodworking as a hobby.

As a noble, she does not care to do anything considered "peasant" work to her, and outright refuses to do medical, farming, or physical labor tasks.

I highly recommend getting the Old Earth Tech and Cyberpunks mods to pair with her, as they contain numerous other mid and end game bows and crossbows for her to use that aren't in the vanilla game.

Strengths:
  • 4x attack/critical hit rate and 50% more damage and range with any bows or crossbows. (Includes support for modded bows as well!).
  • 50% ranged attack dodge bonus when wearing only regular clothing or light armor (Leather or Veggie).
  • Large happiness bonuses from going on expeditions and being outside.
  • Observes and researches 50% faster.
  • Observes one unknown field item per expedition.
  • Increased sight and sound range (20m), and lowered accuracy penalty in darkness.
  • 50% slower hygiene loss (Hygiene mod only)
  • Comes pre-equipped with Arc Orne, a bow superior to the vanilla short/crossbow allowing for long distance attacks in the early game.

Weaknesses:
  • Observations take 25% longer. Her love for nature means she'll procrastinate coming back.
  • Combat with melee and all other ranged weapons has a 2x cooldown penalty. You'll want to keep her at a distance at all times and stick with bows or crossbows.
  • Lower temperature range tolerance. You'll need to make sure she's dressed correctly for the summer and winter.
  • Cannot do any healing, physical, or farming tasks.

Techs known:
  • Long distance travel
  • Balloon Optimization

To Do List for future versions:
  • Redo the code for "Tu ne peux pas me frapper" trait so the code is more elegant in determining equipment for dodge chance.

FYI, the Vanilla Weapon Tags mod is now a dependency with the code change to use tags in the weapon related traits. Without it, the bonuses won't work for vanilla bows and X-bows.

Pacifiers also now benefit from her Archer Supreme skill, so she'll be a great option for facilitating the taming of dangerous wild creatures.

Just a quick note to those who didn't check the patch notes, but the two known research items that were causing the black screen issue if you didn't have Old Earth Tech mod were removed a couple of months ago.

Those two known techs tie into Old Earth Tech mod. It's a mod I highly recommend using with her.

That said, in the past it didn't used to crash the game if you didn't have the mod. Don't want that.

I'll noodle on a solution. If I can get it to work, great, otherwise I'll remove those two techs because their research times are very quick, and it's not worth crashing the game for.

Reduce the denoising strength around 30% and put the inpaint area to "Only Masked"

The more you go precise, the less strong the denoising must be, otherwise he will try to make a new picture inside the inpainted area :)

That's actually really helpful.

I believe this may be something goofy that unsubscribing/resubscribing should fix as they're there, and functional, but just in case I removed and reuploaded the large portrait for Akane and the small one for Aurielle.

Let me know if that fixes it.

I don't really know much about mod editor. I tried "mod editor" button in Mod Management menu. They said something like: Could not load image from Mod/Aurelie Allard.small.
I have tried your Akane mod. She miss her large portrait in character selection menu (The large portrait at the right side of the screen) but she still has her small portrait in menu and in-game. In mod editor, they said: Could not load image from Mod/Aurelie Allard.large. On the other hand, both of your characters seem to work well in game.
I also tried some other character mods but none of them have any problems.
By the way, I subscribed to 3 mods you suggested. I run them and those character mods simultaneously but I also met the same issue.

That's peculiar. Never had that issue.

Typically that happens due to a broken trait. Both the survivor's portrait and the survivor themselves end up being invisible.

I wonder if it's that's busted because of a particular mod not being used linked to said trait (like Old Earth Tech and /or Hygiene)?

Can you open her up in the Mod Editor and let me know if there's any !! errors and what they say?

Also, if you're not already, subscribe to Hygiene, then try her. If the same issue, then Old Earth Tech and try again. Finally, then SAD_CommonLib (which you should be regardless) and let me know if that resolves it. If so, I'll add those as dependencies and/or tweak some things.

This mod miss her portrait in-game. Please fix it. Thank you so much!
