Nearby systems suffering from over-population pose a constant threat to Motmos’s independence.

A small Imperial naval base forms part of the Highport. Motmos also employees a small fleet of mercenary system defence boats to patrol the belt and outer worlds to prevent piracy or illegal settlement.
