Another challenge joins the list of challenges... (?

"Do you find firing a gun too easy? Do you think there's no real difficulty in just moving your mouse and tapping a button? Or do you think the friendly fire mechanic isn't punishing enough for you? In that case, this is where you'll be put to the test. Each shot will apply a random deviation to your weapon based on the current spread, forcing you to time your shots and be mindful of your aim and limited ammo. Be careful not to hurt your allies, friendly fire has been amplified and you don't want to punish an ally for a simple oversight."

That's the description of the mutation, and as you can see... it's pretty self-explanatory. But still, here I will give you some extra details.


Characteristics:

- As you read above, weapons deviate with each shot depending on your current stance and accuracy. The more mobile and less static your stance is, less control over your weapon's recoil you'll have.
- Weapons also have increased vertical recoil, which is noticeable in heavy calibers such as shotguns and snipers. Even though they are single-shot weapons, don't be fooled by their seemingly controllable recoil.
- All magazine capacities have been decreased and modified realistically. This will force you to maintain good accuracy to avoid wasting ammo.
- Bullets hurt, right? Well, friendly fire has also been tweaked to more realistic and painful values, so be careful. This includes explosions as well.
- Bots will now be more human-like, avoiding shooting through other players but being able to deal friendly fire damage if you don't have careful.
- And finally, keep in mind that the behavior and stats of some weapons have been modified as well.


This mutation focuses on aim and player alertness.
It may seem simple, but there are plenty of things that will throw your weapon off course if you're not careful, and a weapon pointed at a teammate can be very bad. Just like in real life :3

And since this Mutation has been sitting within my files for a while, and the fact that I've been seeing a lot of weapon related content, including firearm safety, I think it's time to transffer this beatiful and realistic concept into Left 4 Dead 2.

So now go out there and kill zombies while you master your weapon dexterity... or... your dexterity to accidentally kill a teammate. (xD)

This is my fourth mutation made a while ago, as the days and months go by I will upload the others.


Here I leave how this mutation is called through the console in case you like using it:
map <mapname> crossfire / crossfire_nobots



Important:
There is an important issue you have to take in mind when playing this mutation if you have latency delay. If you try to move your view abruptly when your weapon is deviating, the game will pull your camera back to the position the deviate happened, slowing down or even blocking your view's movement.
This has nothing to do with the mutation, it's just how the game reacts to weapon deviation when playing with lag.
A simple way to deal with this is just using semi-automatic weapons.

ˑ ➥ You have other scripts which modifies a lot of console variables.
ˑ ➥ You have other scripts with the same file names.

Make sure you go to your game directory --> left4dead2\ems and find the next folders:
hpregen_hextomax
survivor_death_anims
If those folders exist: make a copy of your files into another location as a backup in case you already have this 2 addons and you have custom files to avoid overwriting.

I'm sorry I didn't explain it well, when you install this mod the huds of the weapons you already installed disappear and leave them as the default.

Hides the weapons hud... Mmm, not really. Have you any HUD related mod apart from this one?
Or any weapon modification? Sometimes HUD dissapear when weapon errors occur.

Your mod is the best I've seen with ammo and recoil, but it hides the weapons hud
