KV-2 1940

KV-2 is a Soviet heavy assault tank of the beginning of the Great Patriotic War. The need for a well-protected combat vehicle with powerful weapons arose in the Red Army during the Winter War, when the army encountered the Mannerheim Line defenses. The solution to this problem was the creation of a special assault tank equipped with a powerful 152 mm gun, based on the recently adopted KV heavy tank.
