LAAT-C Transport (Vanilla + Container)

Description
Mod.io version is available here.[mod.io]

"Cody, get the tanks down. Come in, Cody!"
(c)

History

A spin-off of the LAAT-I, LAAT-C was no less important in battle. Carrying old-reliable AT-TE's and AT-OT's straight onto the battlefield, LAAT-C pilots were known as some of the most fearless and unsung aces of the entire war. Besides performing assault and extractions, LAAT-C's were also naturally used for more mundane roles: deploying bases to planets, transferring cargo, and sometimes even retrieving some non-standard cargo, be starship wreckage, or Zillo Beast. Having their heyday in the Clone Wars, these machines found themselves rather quickly on the chopping lists after the war, with most of them been sent to scrapyards even while LAAT-I's were still continuing to serve the new rule.

Pros: pressurized cockpit, limitless customization potential, compatibility with Republic's capital ships.
Cons: a gigantic silhouette, very short ranged and equipped with weapons that are completely useless for self-defense.

Notes On The Cargo Container:

Cargo container included with this build is pretty basic, but it gets the job done. One talented enough can easily convert it into a fuel tank, or maybe even a deployable barrack? Main point of it is to show off the modularity and adaptability of my system, and the fact that you can use it for various different roles and applications.

Also note that Cargo Container included with this build does actually have defined top and bottom, as indicated by arrows. It is important if you want to air-drop these containers using on-board parachutes, just don't forget to set them up beforehand.

Additional Notes:
  • Programmable blocks are turned off by default to improve performance. If you still desire to use them - access the terminal and toggle the group "Programmable Blocks" on.
  • Aaand as per usual, LAAT series has problems with docking. In a way, this isn't too different from regular LAAT-I, as it does have both top and bottom-mounted Connectors, but it is greatly complicated by significantly larger size and a lack of belly. To address the latter, you can deploy Magnetic Clamps, and use them as ersatz-landing gear.
  • Somewhat analogous to the real world F-35, LAAT-C and LAAT-I share almost no parts in common because of different roles and requirements.
  • Also, I know I could have made an actual "Wampa Runner" skin for this one, but... egh? Ship isn't famous enough, and decorating a purely utilitarian vehicle would look weird anyway.

Well, at least this time new model took exactly a week to publish. Hurray?
Oh, by the way, as this is being released, regular LAAT-I is getting a Gen2 update! Check it out here.

hello precious, been waiting for this one, now I'll be able to transport stuff around a lot easier with this guy, and it'll help with rapid deployment onto new planets :D
