NPCs as Ragdolls (MODIFIED)

Description
My personal version of the NPCs as ragdolls mod.

  • Largely rewritten code
  • Fixed double ragdolls when NPCs are killed
  • Prevent NPCs from being picked up by the physgun by default
  • (optimization) Convert from constantly adding multiple think hooks to a master record
  • (optimization) Add a whitelist to prevent certain NPCs from being mushed
  • Added more NULL checks to prevent crashes and glitches
  • Fixed a bug with a couple NPC instances being ready at a time
  • Fixed a bug with zombies going invisible or flat out not working
  • Added optional CULLING: can improve performance upward of 2000% in high demand NPC spawns

Commands

  • dnr_enabled - Enables the system

  • dnr_disablepickup - Disables picking up npcs with the physgun. Good for true realism and also fixes certain glitches and crashes that come with this mod

  • dnr_mushanything - Should anything be turned into a ragdoll? Whatever spawns, as long as it isn't a player will turn into a ragdoll. NOT RECOMMENDED

  • dnr_friendlyfire - Should friendly-fire be accounted for in damage?

  • dnr_optimize - Should culling optimizations be made for NPCs that are not seen? In small, or large maps with many buildings this can improve performance tenfold. However, may produce slight artifacts such as the NPC ragdoll taking a while to catch up, or NPCs being invisible for some time

@Gorigo i would but it’s not really m mod, i was just kind of impatient for certain bug fixes so any undocumented incompatibilities aren’t really in my list

@Ty4a it doesn’t use specifically this, more like a collision detection and physics-influenced animation. This just creates a ragdoll that mimics the NPC’s moves, the actual HLA system is much more complicated in its detections and design, since it was made specifically for VR.
