PRR L1s Mikado Pack

Description
What's in the pack:
This pack adds multiple variants of the Pennsylvania Railroad's L1s 2-8-2 Mikado, including the paint schemes of all the roads that bought these locomotives secondhand. All feature lods for performance, dynamic weathering, authentic sounds, functional marker lights, and where appropriate selectable class lights.

The L1s was the freight counterpart of the famous K4s, sharing the same boiler and many other components. They were powerful enough to replace the H6 Consolidations on a one-for-two basis, and the design was successful enough to heavily influence the development of the USRA Heavy Mikado.

However, in PRR service they were superseded by even larger freight locomotives within the next decade. More were displaced by electrification of mainlines in the East. While many remained in mainline service, particularly in flatter regions, others were moved to secondary roles such as branch line or helper service. Some drifted in and out of storage with traffic fluctuations.

The versatility of the L1s meant that it was successful in a wide variety of roles. Capable of handling mainline freight, yet economical enough for branch lines, and fast enough to serve as a "snapper", a front-end helper, for heavy passenger trains on steep grades. A few even ended up working as boilers to heat commuter coaches waiting in LIRR yards.

The PRR having a surplus of the type meant that a number were sold to other railroads in the 1940's.

IMPORTANT
These locomotives can be found under the "multiple units", "steam" category in the buy menu. They also each have one passenger slot, which is not a bug. Both are a result of these locomotives supporting random numbering which allows for unique road numbers without cluttering up the buy menu or making you download additional textures.

I'd love to do those too, but I can only work so fast.

Oh man, if I could live out my dream of running my own PRR, that would be amazing.

I1s and M1s are definitely a must, I'd also love it if the A5, B6, and D16 got some love

I1s and M1 are the next two I'm planning on making. J1 is also a possibility at some point. DD2 probably not since it was a one off prototype. There's just too many other more common/well known classes I'd like to cover first.

Cant wait to use it, however question? Are you making the M1, I1, J1, DD2?

Great mod! Many thanks for the generic version, for those of us who don't know what pennslania means lol! 😁 Ditto for the Pacifics! Cheers!
