Better Quality Arrows

Description
CA did a terrible job of modelling arrows, they fade away very quickly, dropping into a slinky undersized arrow model that you can barely see.
This is the cause of the popping effect from one model to another you get when you go near them.

I have rebuilt the Level Of Detail mesh, I have only added 4 tri's or 2 polygons. The effect on performance should not be noticeable.

I have also rotated them to the correct flight position as CA had them flying flat, when they are actually released from a bow with the blade and fletch vertical. I also extended the view distance from 500 to 1000.

I find arrows look best with this mod when there is only a 5-10% arrow trail set.

I think he means the game Troy. :) I play all TW games heavily modded. I just released a "Friendly Diplomacy" mod as an experiment in slowing down the endless wars...but these really arent economic/diplo simulators.

Well if it only takes you moments to darken the files, adding Javelins to this mod would be nice. They are still invisible.

@Mavrik347 Troy is generally agreed to be a ridiculously hard start right now, being hated by nearly all other factions lol. Try one of the other factions. It's a great game, leagues above Troy and I'd hate for you to miss out from just one campaign.

All I really want to do tbh is remove the lowest quality LOD tier entirely. That one makes all the units light tan and dont show up on sand. Blech. Who works at CA lol do they have eyes?

@Mavrik347 Could you point me in the right direction of how to do it in the modern games?

In Shogun 2 it's absurdly simple: a tabled in db called "warscape_rigid_lod_range_tables" has 15 rows you set. Boom. Good as the game will let you do (which is still LOD-tastic but better).

No plans, tbh I've gone off Pharaoh. I just did this as it was a popular request.
Just tried as Troy and got the usual loose canon economy and war war war with AI cheating away. Which is why I stopped playing Troy in the first place.

Hello! GREAT WORK!

I dabble in modding, and I poked around a bit to see if there was an easy way to get rid of LOD3 like with older games (Shogun 2 is my jam) but I cant seem to find anything.

Do you have any plans to tackle the unit LOD at all?

Thanks!

Maybe, Asset Editor .45 (not .47). Load the standard bearer model and look at the Element (on the hierarchy on the right) and check the LOD Visibility Distance. Make sure you understand LODs before you do this, and of course how to make a mod.
