Information for Travellers

The Forine system contains seven rocky worlds and the extensive Dragan asteroid belt.

Forine has a Class A Starport, but the Starport has not expanded to meet the incredibly high demand from visiting starships. As a result of this starships can wait months for an official berth, or they will land at one of a number of smaller Class D Starports.

The planet Forine is a small, high population, ice-capped, industrial, non-agricultural world with a frigid climate, and a trace atmosphere - most sophonts will require a vac suit to survive. The planet’s water is frozen into kilometre deep ice caps or is trapped deep underground.

The planet Forine has sufficient industrial to maintain TL-10. It is totally reliant on off-world traders to bring in sufficient food.

The Forine system currently has a population of 6,000,000 Sophonts, making it the most populated system in the District 268 Subsector. Of these 1,600,000 live on the planet Forine while the rest live in habitats spread through the Dragan belt or on the Trojans in Forine’s orbit.

Demand for off-world food resources led to increasingly aggressive competition with the high population worlds of Collace and Dallia. The Imperium intervened in 990 and imposed a treaty on all parties. The Elixabeth system was transferred to Dallian control, although Forine maintained control of Milagro and Talchek. Milagro was abandoned in 1079.

Forine is a Non-charismatic Dictatorship. Since the assassination of long-serving dictator Chomi Norep in 1081 Forine has been ruled by the head of the secret police.
