Here's footage of weapons in a first person mod to send to an animator as a reference.
Sure, the animations have flaws, but GTA SA was a third person game. I would imagine viewmodels for them should be like the animations rendered from first person, but with much more polish and personal flair added.
A good example I'm talking about would be something like Geiskrankenchan's Max Payne addons, they're not just high quality FP animations, they're also surprisingly accurate to Max Payne's actual animations for the guns in game while also being much more polished to hold up to first person scrutiny.
Also it feels like they do WAY too much damage and that they should be scaled to HL2 damage values.
