Information for Travellers

The Talchek system contains nine rocky worlds and one gas giant.

The Talchek system is a P-Type binary: all the planets orbit both stars.

The planet Talchek is a cold, Fluidic, Non-industrial world with a corrosive atmosphere – most sophonts will require a vac suit to survive - and a small amount of liquid hydrocarbons on the surface.

The planet Talchek is a declared Amber Zone. The chaotic orbits of the inner planets, the high-pressure corrosive atmosphere of the planet Talchek, and a tricky political situation makes Talchek a risky planet to visit.

The Class C Starport provides unrefined starship fuel harvested from the gas giant.

The planet Talchek is a major source of petrochemicals – particularly fertilizers – but is reliant on off-world traders to bring in goods to maintain TL-8.

The Darrians first settled Talchek in -1000 before the colony was abandoned. Colonists from Forine arrived in 975 to harvest chemicals from the environment.

In 990 the Imperium imposed a treaty to prevent a war between Collace, Dallia and Forine. Forine maintains control of Talchek, but the colonists have taken advantage of the threat of Imperial intervention to steadily eroded Forine’s control, setting up a Representative Democracy, and reducing Forine’s appointed Governor to the role of a figurehead.

The simulation is currently stable, but that might change when running the simulation forward.
