The P38 Lighting was an American Interceptor designed by Lockheed and was one of the most capable fighters in the Second World War. It was vital to the air campaign over the Pacific Theater and North Africa throughout the war. It's effectiveness and distinct shape earned it the nickname "The Fork Tailed Devil" by German Luftwaffe pilots.
