Information for Travellers

The Winston system contains five rocky worlds, and one gas giant.

At some point in the past Winston K5 star encountered the small M9 star and formed a P-Type binary system where planets began to orbit both stars.

The Winston System is part of the Entropic Worlds.

The Winston system has no Starport. Starships must refuel from either the gas giant or from the planet Winston’s oceans.

The planet Winston is a warm, Agricultural, Garden, Non-industrial world with a Dense atmosphere and a large amount of surface water.

The planet Winston has a native biome that is biologically incompatible with Terra-derived lifeforms. Two thriving yet separate biomes exist on Winston.

The planet Winston is reliant on off-world traders bringing in goods to maintain TL-6.

Winston was originally settled by the Darrians. After the Maghiz in -924 Winston was cut off from other Darrian worlds until refugees arrived in -855, bringing with them Draygon's Disease - a terrible plague - thus destroying the first colony.

In -271 a scout ship from Mire investigated the planet. After a research base failed to find any trace of Draygon's Disease a new settlement was founded in -204.

The Winston systems location placed it on the frontlines of the Frontier Wars. During the Forth Frontier War Winston was seized by the Sword Worlds Confederation in 1084. The Starport was destroyed during this invasion.

As the Sword Worlds control of Winston is insecure, there is little appetite for off-world investment. A small numbers of colonists have arrived from various Sword Worlds planets but quickly integrated into the local Darrian culture.

Winston has a Balkanized Government. The population of 500,000 lives in widely scattered independent settlements that rarely interact and barely acknowledge Sword Worlds control.

The simulation is currently stable, but that might change when running the simulation forward.
