Macchi C.200CB "Saetta"

The C.200 was a fighter aircraft developed by Aeronautica Macchi for the Regia Aeronautica, introduced in 1939. A modern (for the time) all-metal monoplane with retractable landing gear, the C.200 was one of the most advanced Italian aircraft at the beginning of WWII. Over 1,000 were produced, seeing service throughout Italy's fighting in the war, on fronts such as Malta, North Africa, and Eastern Europe.

This particular model is based on the CB variant capable of mounting a pair of bombs, and features the late-production C.202 type wing with additional machine guns.

-2x 12.7mm Breda-SAFATs, 200 rounds AP each
-2x 7.7mm Breda-SAFATs, 100 rounds Incendiary each
-2x 50 kg bombs

-1x large radio, channels 0-8. Push-to-talk automatically activated by microphone speaking

STARTUP+TAKEOFF:

-circuit breaker ON
-fuel valve OPEN
-magnetos ON
-engine starter press until engine starts
-RPS set 50% for taxi
-parking brake release
-taxi to takeoff, steering is done via differential braking
-RPS set 75% (max continuous power) for takeoff
-flaps as desired
-throttle to max + elevator up to takeoff
-gear lever UP until red lights show
-cruise at RPS setting 50%


FLYING THE AIRCRAFT:
-use trim! it helps keep you flying straight
-this fighter is generally quite maneuverable, turning and rolling well
-cruise power is 50% RPS setting, the engine can handle cruising at 75% if you want though
-100% RPS is the emergency setting, be careful of engine temperature!
-fuel is somewhat limited, be careful not to fall out of the sky!


LANDING:
-RPS set 75%
-flaps DOWN
-trim as required
-throttle .35-.40
-approach runway threshold until over runway, then reduce throttle to touch down

WEAPONS:

-guns arm will arm all the guns, spacebar to fire. 7.7mm ammunition will run out roughly twice as quick due to half the ammo load.
-DO NOT LOAD 12.7mm WITH AMMO OTHER THAN ARMOR PIERCING
-bombs arm will arm both pylons. Hold down 1 to launch bombs, they will both launch with a small ripple delay.
