Information for Travellers

The Gram system contains seven rocky worlds and three gas giants.

The Gram system is an S-Type binary. At some point in the past the star Sigurd captured the passing star Sigmund. Only Sigurd has a solar system.

The Gram system sits in the middle of the Gram Arm, an important Jump-1 trade route.

Gram is a member of the Sword Worlds Confederation.

Gram is considered to be the capital of the Sword Worlds Confederation, although its authority is somewhat hypothetical.

The Gram system has a Class A Starport that provides refined fuel and services a large number of orbital docks producing naval starships. A Sword Worlds naval base and military base are present in the system.

There are a number of orbital defence platforms protecting these installations.

Gram produces a large amount of industrial products, including Jump Drives, and maintains TL-12.

The planet Gram is a High population, Industrial, High-tech Earth-sized meso world with a Dense atmosphere tainted by industrial pollution – most sophonts will require a filter mask to breathe - and a moderate amount of surface water.

The planet Gram was first surveyed by the Darrians sometime in the -1000s. It was the first system to be colonised in -399 by settlers from the Old Earth Union.

Gram was part of the Sacnoth Dominate from -187 to -102. Gram regained its independence due to the War of the First Rebellion.

Gram became the capital of the Sword Worlds Confederacy in 852.

Gram was originally a monarchy. Efforts to reform the Government into a Civil Service Bureaucracy stalled due to the actions of the many noble houses who dominate the Government. Gram is now considered to be Feudal Technocracy.

The population of 6,000,000,000 mostly human sophonts live in grim conditions. Huge sprawling crime-ridden cities are focused on producing High-Tech industrial goods for the entire Sword Worlds Confederation.

While Gram is the cradle of Sword World culture its population live lives little different from their Imperial counterparts.

The simulation is currently stable, but that might change when running the simulation forward.
