1 September 1939. Talks between our government and that of the aggressor Nazi government have broken down. I fear the Germans will invade within days, if not hours. I can hear the rumble of engines and the whine of tank treads to the west. My orders to you are as follows: hold every inch of Poland as though you have nowhere east to retreat to. We are outgunned, outnumbered, but not outmatched. Make the fascist invaders pay for their insolence.

This mission takes you to the start of it all - the initial opening day of WWII in Europe. Polish forces will initially engage German Panzers and Panzergrenadiers at the border crossing by the train station. The forces the Polish army can assemble here are merely a speed-bump. Polish forces must retreat further into the town and hold the radio station at the post office, in order to notify command of the disaster unfolding, and to signal for reinforcements. Should this fall, as it likely will, the Poles will retreat to their roadblock positions to the east, and eventually to their artillery battery and what's left of their headquarters, after the Luftwaffe has made its rounds...
