What if Vile made it into a Doom Mod? I would like to see him slaughter some monsters in first person and see how well his gameplay style is translated into a different genre.
Then it's to have Vava/Vile in a good playable form in a future Rockman game. He's a good contrast with X, who can only use 1 (or 2 if you count the games with an X-Buster fire button option like in Maverick Hunter X and some previous entries.) weapon at a time, but can freely change between weapons, Vile can use 3 at once with a regenerating energy bar, but can't freely switch.
Vile's ways of obtaining weapons (not just from one boss, but having combination weapons like the Nervous Ghost which he gets from downing Sting Chameleon and Spark Mandrill) also lends itself to having better replay value on how you plan your route from which boss and how you use the weapons you obtain along the way, because Vile obtains multiple weapons from one boss rather than just one like X.
that's funny, i played MHX months ago and even though it's kinda underrated, it feels like a nice remake to a great game and expanding the lore even though it was originally planned up to the 6th game (shame it never happened) but got canned thanks to poor sales.
i gotta agree with ya, vile's playstyle's pretty fun there despite having more limited arsenal with what you need to pick for a stage for him to play best there and being more difficult than X.
Unpopular Opinion on an unpopular game, I really loved how he played in Maverick Hunter X, being able to use 3 simultaneous weapons and having a larger arsenal, but being unable to freely switch in stages.
