Squad Showdown: Slider Shore

Description
Want more team in your Team Fortress? Less class in your class-based warfare? ... Uhhh, more randomized weapons? A simple objective like "stay alive"?

This map is an attempt at satisfying the hip and modern gaming crowd. Originally a trade map, Slider Shore has been expanded further away from the beach into a large scale open city with streets, alleyways, rooftops, some enterable buildings and jump pads for easier navigation.

The gamemode it runs is a brand new-ish creation by Alex Turtle, a team-based survival combat for not two, not four, but EIGHT separate squads of players at once. Forget about antique concepts like "classes", "coordination" and "team synergy" - everyone starts equal, no starting guns, same HP, same speed, same goal: to remain the last team standing.

Slider City is a bountiful locale, ripe with conveniently scattered weapon crates for bypassing killers to reap. Opening one will drop a randomly selected weapon of a random rarity with randomized extra stats - that's three times more random than Mann Co. cases! As a bonus, we've also got rid of class limitations - any player can pick up any kind of weapon, provided they have a free item slot for it (otherwise they will drop whatever item they currently hold there).

If you want a more reliable currency for your effort than a pistol slightly larger magazine, worry not and keep reading. All players will also collect money from opened crates and killed enemies. Money that can be spent on drinks, upgrades, locked crates with guaranteed rare weapon drops, and even reviving your deceased squadmates. You heard it right, massive wealth can conquer death itself. So get to killing. Before the shrinking zone of death catches you...

There is a lot more we have to show - teammate medikits, air drops, platforming mechanics, other maps (!) - but we're kinda dragged this description for long enough. For last, we will just let you also know that you don't need any kind of plugin to run this gamemode. It's powered by Vscript, and all necessary content is packed within the map. Obviously, we recommend playing it on a full server, and we've playtested it with up to 40 players at a time. I wouldn't push your server beyond that though, the map is already resource intense as is.

Took a quick look at the map only to see how magnificently detailed it is... just... WOW! You really nailed that hotline miami-esque look!

super psyched to see 100 players all duking it on this map at some point !

Guys! Do you think your Battle-Royale game mode would work with something like this?

Would it be too much to ask for an SFM version of the map? TF2 in general is somewhat lacking in terms of quality city maps.

Valve, they have my wife and children. They said if I don’t send them the money in the next 72 hours I’d never see them again. Please, Valve. Please.

The Volvo Group (Swedish: Volvokoncernen; legally Aktiebolaget Volvo, shortened to AB Volvo, stylized as VOLVO) is a Swedish multinational manufacturing corporation headquartered in Gothenburg. While its core activity is the production, distribution and sale of trucks, buses and construction equipment, Volvo also supplies marine and industrial drive systems and financial services. In 2016, it was the world's second-largest manufacturer of heavy-duty trucks with its subsidiary Volvo Trucks.[5]

Volvo was founded in 1927. Initially involved in the automobile industry, Volvo expanded into other manufacturing sectors throughout the twentieth century. Automobile manufacturer Volvo Cars, also based in Gothenburg, was part of AB Volvo until 1999, when it was sold to the Ford Motor Company. Since 2010 Volvo Cars has been owned by the automotive company Geely Holding Group. Both AB Volvo and Volvo Cars share the Volvo logo and cooperate in running the Volvo Museum in Gothenburg, Sweden.[6]
