Information for Travellers

The Hofud system contains seven rocky worlds and one gas giant.

The Hofud system is a P-Type binary. The two stars – Heimdall and the much smaller Skirnir – formed from the same proto-stellar cloud. All the planets orbit both stars.

The Hofud system sits on the junction of the Sacnoth Arm and the Trailing Worlds Corridor, important Jump-1 trade routes.

Hofud is a member of the Sword Worlds Confederation.

The Hofud system has a Class B Starport that provides refined fuel processed from the planet Hofud’s oceans. A Sword Worlds naval base and military base is also present in the system.

Hofud relies on off-world traders to bring in goods to maintain TL-10.

The planet Hofud is a Garden, Rich meso world with a Standard atmosphere and a moderate amount of surface water.

The planet Hofud was first surveyed by the Darrians sometime in the -1000s. It was colonised in -381 by settlers from the Old Earth Union.

Sometime between the Darrian survey and the arrival of Old Earth Union colonists Hofud’s two moons collided. Both moons were shattered, leaving behind a number of fragments and a dense dust cloud.

In -187 Hofud became part of the Sacnoth Dominate. At the end of the War of the First Rebellion of -102 Hofud formed the short-lived Hofud Alliance. This alliance collapsed in -97.

In 383 Hofud seized control of the Sting System, whose government fled to the Biter System. Hofud then invaded Biter, leading to 20 years of savage fighting. Unable to defeat the rebels Hofud deported many of Biter’s population to other Sword World systems.

The planet Hofud is a Feudal Technocracy. The planet’s Jarls now run all Government departments and business interests. The population of 600,000,000 Carls and Thralls are assigned to work under a particular Jarl.

The simulation is currently stable, but that might change when running the simulation forward.
