The Complete 1970s Mod - Historical Start Edition

Description
This mod contains every driver who attempted to qualify for a World Championship GP between 1970 and 1979 (as well as some who didn't, and some Easter eggs). Nearly 200 drivers in all.

Enjoy this complete rendition of the 1970s! How will your history change?

V1.2 Contains all the drivers who attempted to qualify for a World Championship Grand Prix in the 1970s. as well as historical Engineers.

Future versions will aim to include period appropriate chief mechanics.

This is the Historical Start Edition of the Mod.

This includes the three driver owners in 1970 at their teams (Jack Brabham, John Surtees & Bruce McLaren). All of them will retire after 1970 (this is because it's impossible to mandate drivers stay with teams permanently at this time).

Please be aware that altering the driver line-ups by poaching drivers from another team for your team can have some immersion breaking effects in this version.

For example if you sign Jackie Stewart for Ferrari, Tyrrell may replace him with Jack Brabham, which means Brabham with no Jack, which would be weird while he's still racing . . .


If you want a more open and ahistorical experience, there is an Open Driver Market of this Mod without the owner drivers (let's assume they all retired at the end of 1969) which may suit you better!

Love the mod but the death rate is harsh. 4 drivers have died in 5 races. I get that F1 was extraordinarily dangerous then but there might not be anyone left after season 2 at this rate. :)

Love the mod! Do extra drivers appear in this version off the mod, i'm now into 1973 and there has been no Lauda, Revson or Jarier who all had full time drives in 73 or any new drivers that i can see? Also Rindt seems unbeatable from the 2nd season onwards, massively out qualifying everyone including his teammate (J Stewart) by around 3 seconds. It could be just the car but i thought i'd make sure.

The only change i made to this historical line ups in my first season was i selected Amon to drive for me as driver #1 and Cevert #2.
