1. Plenty of wood around, chop chop and chop.
2. Rush science and get floodgates. Put a waterwheel in the badwater hill to power your lumber mill if you can get stairs in time, otherwise use manual power.
3. put flodogates in the water farming area. I think dam will work too, but it will take a while for pressure to be enough and water to return back, if you dam it, it will probably entire cycle before water reached 0.65, but with floodgates, you can lower the gates as soon as water returns.
4. Once developed a bit move water pumps to outer helix, plenty of water there to survive all the droughts, do not be shy in using waterdump to ensure farming area is safe.
5. Badtides are not a problem in your main area early game for sure and you are safe from droughts now.
Play the game the way you want to after that. Author's tips in comment is very helpful, Dam the small river.
Its amazing how much work Author would've put in making sure all the tiny details that make the map fun. As the description says just figuring out waterflows itself is so much fun. Even though the space constraint and other things that make it hard, you also made it so that there are ample resources to not kill off the fun. Although I only play in normal difficulty, so hard players mileage may vary. I am still figuring out the best way to manage badtides completely and automate the process, but first map where even at 30 cycle i wanted to play more, but also wanted to restart and do things again with my knowledge.
The best workshop map i've ever played. Period.
Devs should include this map in the base game and compensate the creator.
