Description
"Freedom! Unity! Ostrich feathers!"
- Saharan People's Liburation Front slogan.

Yet another mod I threw together for my own playthroughs, now on the workshop in case anyone else would like to try it. Like the one for Thrace, this mod splits the default all-in-one recruitment building of the two Libu factions (Meshwesh and Dungul) into 3 separate branches; melee, ranged, and deserters/mercenaries. Also adds two new unique units to each of the two factions. The units available in the merc recruitment building are different for the Meshwesh and Dungul.

Meshwesh: From the merc building, Meshwesh gets some low to mid tier Lower Eqyptian infantry units to provide their roster with slightly heavier units, and Eqyptian javelin chariots. The pièce de résistance of the Meshwesh mercs is the Medjay Spearmen. Their 2 new unique units, recruited from the infantry barracks, are sword units that have looted Egyptian gear. Have fun giving those snooty "civilized" types a taste of their own medicine!

Dungul: Dungul mercs are a mix of Nubian longbows and Kushite spears. Their best mercs are Ta-Seti Longbowmen and Kushite Royal Guard. They also get Nubian Chariots, but I'm very unsure if they should keep them - what do you think? Too much? Just right? The Dungul unique units are heavy spearmen who have been equipped and taught to fight in formation by the Kushites. Maybe they served for a while in Kushite armies as mercs themselves? Who knows. I tried asking them, but I don't speak Proto-Berber, so at this point, it's anyone's guess.

Also, some tweaks to vanilla units:
  • Libu generals now have the Desert Scorpions passive ability. Why should the boss be less sneaky than his men?
  • Libu Desert Skirmishers now have shields. Couldn't help myself. Sorry, not sorry.
  • All Libu units now have Strong Vigour. *

*The reason for the Strong Vigour is that I think it fits sprint-y desert bois to have solid stamina. This of course makes the Libu stronger across the board, but in my testing, I haven't found it to be too much. Lemme know if you think so, though, I'm open for bribes discussion.

Just as with my other mods, I still haven't learned to make unit cards, so they use vanilla cards. Sub-optimal, I know. Maybe I'll get around to learning it some day... Potentially...

As always, if you have any suggestions or other feedback, don't hesitate to drop a comment! I can't promise I'll implement it, but I can promise that I will consider all suggestions.

Safe to add mid-campaign, but not safe to remove (just tested to make sure). If you add it mid-campaign, your already-existing recruitment buildings will become grey, non-functional slot-wasters, but you can just demolish them and then build proper SPLF-barracks instead, as befits children of the desert :P

No hablo español, así que traduje tu mensaje en Google. ¿Hace ambas cosas, más o menos? 2 nuevas unidades por facción, nuevos edificios de reclutamiento, más unidades básicas para ambas facciones y algunos ajustes en las estadísticas :)

I don't speak Spanish, so I Google translated your message - It does both, kinda? 2 new units per faction, new recruitment buildings, more vanilla units for both factions, and some stat tweaks :)
