Callisto IV (Block 2A)

Description
Description
Callisto IV is a massive super heavy lift rocket inspired by the aesthetics of the 1970s with some inspiration from newer rocket designs such as Starship. An ocean launched rocket like the SeaDragon, with the lunar capabilities of the SaturnV, and the aesthetics and cargo capacity of the Space Shuttle. When combined you get the Callisto IV, a massive vehicle which primarily serves as a "lunar ferry" bringing cargoes such as rovers, base modules, propellant units, and crew to and from the lunar surface in a very intuitive and sustainable way. The first stage lifts off the from the ocean to send the upper stage to space, where it can then land on the moon, and return all the way home without the need for refuelling.

The Numbers
Total Length (including ballast tank): 109.25m
First Stage Length: 51m
Upper Sage Length: 44m
Diameter: 8.25m
Crew Capacity: 8 (Commander, Pilot, Payload Specialist, Mission Specialist, Engineer, Geologist, Scientist, Medical Officer)
Propellant in Litres (Upper Stage): 19736184 Litres of LOX, 36075252 Litres of LH2

Callisto IV Startup Procedure (very easy just read this carefully)
1) Spawn wherever you want in the water using the mission editor (Make sure it is at least 100m deep, next to the oil rig works usually

2) To flood the ballast press the button on the top of the Tank (now go inside the rocket sit in Commander Seat to control it)

3) When inside press these buttons: Engine systems, Upper Stage Engine Ignition, Upper Stage Outer Engine Toggle, Upper Stage Center Engine Toggle, Transfer Tube Pumps

4) When ready to launch (vehicle is upright in the water) Press the SEND IT button

Off you go!!! assuming you pressed all those buttons in step 3), the rocket should automatically stage and continue to space at 37km altitude.

Controlling Callisto IV (and landing on the moon) (also easy just read please)

1)WASD for pitch and yaw.
2)left and right for roll. (I recommend binding left/right to QE for ease of use)
3) Staging happens automatically so don't worry about that.

HOW TO LAND ON MOON???
1) press the button titled ACS thrusters, these are like big RCS thrusters to orient the rocket, same controls as the main engines and they run off the main fuel source so dont worry about fuel consumption
2) when above the moon and you've slowed down turn off the "outer engines toggle" so only the center engine is firing
3) make sure you do slow down so you don't impact the moon at mach jesus
4) To land safely turn off "Upper Stage Engine Ignition", and put on "Upper Stage Engine Push Igniton". This only fires the engine when you are pressing your spacebar, or you can bind it to your left mouse button which works very well for me.
5) Throttle down slightly depending on the rocket's weight your speed, use push ignition to set the rockets landing legs gently on the moon, and use ACS to keep the rocket upright and facing the direction you want to go.

BUT HOW TO LAND ON EARTH????
7) When you reenter the atmosphere, keep the black heatshield side of the rocket facing the earth, essentially belly flop the rocket home. (Starship fans will know what I mean)
8) To target a specific landing site pitch and yaw the rocket slightly in that direction to glide it that way. It doesn't glide well (duh) but it has several kilometers of crossrange gliding ability.
9) When landing on earth you can use the "Landing Burn" button to have the rocket automatically set itself gently on the ground, use ACS to keep the rocket upright. (Make sure Upper Stage Engine Ignition and ONLY Center engine toggle is ON)
8) You can also land this thing in the ocean like a typical capsule. Use engine push ignition and ACS to flip the rocket and slow down before splashdown.
