I always liked the varatiation that was less of a jawbreaker, where he just kind of pulled them down to the side for a facecrusher. That's kind of what I was going for, aside from a general smoothing-out

Oh, I like that. The original animation isn't quite sure whether it wants to be more of a snap or more of a flat facebuster (which reflects how Ace was doing it at the time--and tells you how old that animation is). This looks much more like the "Ace crusher" I think of. It's also not hyper-Johnny-specific, which I appreciate.
