McDonnell Douglas DC10-10 Blank Passenger

Description
It's been over 2 years since ive last made a large replica airplane but im glad to be back, this was a very fun project to work on! This entire build was only possible because of the BRCI 3d object importer and the help i got from dkontrario!

The DC10 is a three engine, widebody (twin-aisle) jetliner introduced by mcdonnell-douglas in 1971, just one year after Boeing's 747, making the DC10 the second ever widebody airliner.
The DC10's unique Trijet engine layout was chosen because of aviation regulations preventing two engine aircraft from flying more than an hour away from the closest diversion airport, effectively banning them from transoceanic routes.
Unlike other trijets such as the Boeing 727 or Lockheed L1011, which used S-ducts for the tail engine, allowing it to be built into the fuselage, the DC10's rear engine was built into the vertical stabilizer with the structure of the tail having to be diverted around the engine opening, and the a protrusion out the back of the tail to hold engine systems normally found in the engine pylons.
The DC10 is famous in the minds of many for two early incidents involving the rear cargo door being improperly latched, a design flaw douglas knew about early on but never fixed. This sparked a controversy so great that McDonnell Douglas never fully recovered from, even after the DC10 went on to have an otherwise excellent safety record. Despite its tarnished public image, I still have such a soft spot for the DC10, i find it such a beautiful plane with introduced many innovations that continue in modern aircraft design, even over 50 years since its first flight.
