Intro
Rivals of Aether II is the sequel to the hit indie fighting game, Rivals of Aether. Play as both new and returning elemental fighters in the next generation of platform fighters.

This guide will show you how to get all the achievements in Rivals of Aether II.

Update (1/25/2025): Added Etalus Achievements
Update (4/3/2025): Added Olympia Achievements
--- Character Specific Achievements ---
A decent amount of the achievements require you to character specific tasks. Here I will detail how to get each one, sectioned off by character.

Most of these achievements can be done in training mode. This is the recommended method as its easier to set things up perfectly. The dummies can be set to 999% in the training menu which makes getting the "Get a KO with..." achievements a lot easier

Note: Make use of the Save and Load State functionally in Training Mode. This way you don't have to set up everything again if you fail. Just load the state and try again.
Zetterburn 🔥

Achievement
Description
Flash In The Pan
As Zetterburn, hit an opponent with 3 Neutral Specials in 1 second

Zetterburns Neutral Special makes a big ball of fire surround him. Since this move comes out very fast (Frame 2). You can get lots of Neutral Specials off in quick succession.

To do this easily, get 3 dummies. Set them up pretty much right on top of each other. Then you can Neutral Special -> Jump -> Neutral Special -> Jump -> Neutral Special

Having 3 dummies there makes it a lot more likely to make sure all the Neutral Specials hit at least one person.

The Reckless Flame
Get a KO with Zetterburn's Aerial Down Special

Zetterburn's Down Special travels diagonally with a spike hitbox.

In order to get this achievement you have to go off stage above the void for it to trigger. It will not work if you land on stage.

To do this easily, throw the opponent off stage, jump, then hit them with the Down Special. You want to drag them down with you towards the bottom. You do not need to make it back to the stage, so dying here is ok.
Forsburn 🚬
Image
Achievement
Description
Long Con
As Forsburn keep a clone alive for 10 seconds

Forsburn can summon a clone by using his Forward Special. Mine didn't unlock in training mode but you can do a normal local match with a second player and summon a clone and wait.

Image
Achievement
Description
The Deadly Deception
Get a KO with Forsburn's Clone

Once you have the Clone out, you can perform Down Special to make the clone explode. The clone will run towards the enemy by itself so just time it right for an easy kill.

Clairen ⏰
Image
Achievement
Description
Future Foreseer
As Clairen, hit 2 or more players at once with fully charged Neutral Special

Fully charging Clariens Neutral Special will kill at almost any percent. Grab 2 dummies and hold Neutral Special until you get that massive beam.

Image
Achievement
Description
The Unlimited Sight
Get a KO with Clairen's Down Special

This one is a bit more tricky. Clairen's Down Special is a counter. When hit by an opponent during the move, Clairen creates a field that damages the opponents during its creation.

I did this with a Loxodant dummy. I got him to about ~170% then forward threw him off the stage. You want to stand at the ledge and press Down Special as Loxodont does his recovery move. If you time it right, the field will send Loxodant down and make it impossible for him to recover to the stage.

Loxodont 🐘
Image
Achievement
Description
The Igneous Axe
Get a KO with Loxodont's Up Special

A pretty simple one. Get a dummy, stand next to them, Up Special. Easy

Image
Achievement
Description
King's Court
Hit a single Molten Boulder 5 times

Loxodant's Neutral Special sends out a Molten Boulder. You can charge this move to give it more distance as well as angle it by holding a direction as you charge.

There are a few ways of getting this achievement. One way is to hold up to send the boulder upwards. Then you can repeatedly Short Hop Down Air to hit 5 times.

This video by Xtreme also gives a good explanation on how to get it with dash attacks. Thank you to Ereson in the comments for the link to the video :)

Orcane 🐬
Image
Achievement
Description
The Bubble Butt
Get a KO with Orcane's Forward Aerial

Orcane's Forward Aerial shoots out some bubbles. Now this does not do a ton of damage or knockback. What does do lots of knockback is Orcane himself. After performing a Forward Aerial you can hold back to propel Orcane in the opposite direction. Use Orcane's body during this move to get the kill

Image
Achievement
Description
The Daring Orca Hop
Grab ledge after combining Orcane's Up Special with a jump deep below the stage

Prob one of the more difficult ones only due to how confusing it may be. To do an Orca Hop you have to press Up Special INSTANTLY after a jump. This is a very tight input.

From my testing it does not matter how low you go, only that you do the input correctly and grab the ledge.

I did this by going on the side platforms on Hyperborean Harbor, jumping off of them, then using my double jump to do the Orca Hop and grab the ledge.

Ranno 🐸
Image
Achievement
Description
The Poisonous Storm
Get a KO with Ranno's Up Special

Just like the other Up Special KO achievements. Up Special next to a dummy at 999% for an easy unlock

Image
Achievement
Description
Pacifist Punching Bag
As Ranno, deal over 40 damage to a bubbled opponent

Update: They did lower the damage needed for this achievement from 50% to 40%, which makes it easier.

This is the one I had the most trouble with.

Ranno's mechanic is Poison. A few of his moves build stacks of poison and it caps out at 4 stacks. The more stacks of Poison an opponent has, the longer they stay in the bubble. The easiest way to get max poison stacks is using Special Pummel.

I did this by heading on over to Merchant Port. Get your opponent to max poison stacks and head on over to the right ledge. You want as much space a possible for this.

The opponent should be next to the ledge with you: [Opponent][You][Ledge]

Once you get the set up I highly recommend you make a save state. You will most likely fail this a number of times.

Perform a Forward Special, this will grab the opponent and put them into a bubble.

Now for the tricky part, you need to Short Hop Forward Air to rack up enough damage to get over that 50 40%.

Note: Forward Special deals 6% to the opponent so if you see the opponent at slightly over 50 40% damage and wondering why you the achievement didn't unlock, that is why

Etalus 🧊
Image
Achievement
Description
The Icy Plummet
Get a KO with Etalus' Up Special

Just like the other Up Special KO achievements. Up Special next to a dummy at 999% for an easy unlock

Image
Achievement
Description
Ice Is Right
As Etalus break an opponent's frozen shield

Hitting an opponents shield with Etalus' Neutral Special turns the opponents shield into a frozen shield. This shield drains extremely quickly and is thus very easy to break.

Note: you can not get this achievement with a dummy set to shield. The shield does not drain at all and thus is impossible to break.

Have one human player on a controller and one human player on keyboard. Go into a match. Have the keyboard player hold shield while the Etalus hits the shield with Neutral Special. Now that the keyboard players' shield is frozen, Etalus must break the shield. I used jabs as they come out quickly.

It took me a few tries but ended up getting it rather quickly
Kragg 🗻
Image
Achievement
Description
The Boulder Barrage
Get a KO with Kragg's rock shards

Kragg's Neutral Special lets you pull a giant rock from the ground. If it is hit by any attack, it will break and launch rock pellets in that attacks general direction. Place the rock between you and your opponent and hit it with a move that attacks towards the opponent, like Dash Attack or Forward Strong

Image
Achievement
Description
Rock The Block
As Kragg, hit an opponent with a rock 3 times in a row in a single combo

Another execution heavy achievement. When Kragg has a rock he can throw it in a few directions, we are going to focus on throwing it down for this one.

Once you have a rock, Jump and input Down and Attack/Special (Either button here works) so that it hits an opponent. The rock should be knocked back up in the air. From here, Jump and Input Neutral Special again when next to the midair rock. This will let you re-grab the rock. Throw the rock down again, rinse and repeat until the achievement unlocks.
Maypul 🍃
Image
Achievement
Description
Maypals!
As Maypul, have Lily, Poppy and Terry out at the same time

Maypul has some friends that she can bring out to change the tide of battle. Each of her friends need you do perform a different move to bring them out
  • Lily: Grounded Down Special
  • Poppy: Special Pummel
  • Terry: Ledge Special

The friends do go away on their own if you take too long but the timing is pretty generous

Image
Achievement
Description
The Vicious Vine
Get a KO with Maypul's tether into an aerial

Several of Maypul's moves mark an opponent like Neutral Special. Once marked, you can press Attack+Special to tether to that opponent. The best way to do this is to mark an opponent, tether, then throw out a Neutral Air.

Wrastor 🦅
Image
Achievement
Description
The Terrible Tempest
Get a KO with Wrastor's Neutral Special

Another easy KO achievement. Stand next to an opponent and watch Wrastor carry the opponent to their death.

Image
Achievement
Description
The Towering Tornado
As Wrastor, land a special pummel while standing on a tornado platform

Wrastor's Special Pummel summons a tornado platform below him where it stays for a few seconds.
After using Special Pummel, just wait until you release the opponent from the grab. Then you can run up and Special Pummel them again. This timing here is a little tight but its not too bad.
Fleet 🏹
Image
Achievement
Description
The Rising Arrow
Get a KO with Fleet's Up Special

Fleet's Up Special is a two part move. The first part sends her up and the second part sends her forward. Lucky for us, the first part is enough to kill. Stand next to an opponent and let it rip.

Image
Achievement
Description
Julesvale Juggle
As Fleet, hit an opponent with 3 Up Strongs in a row

Fleet's Up Strong sends an arrow straight up into the air. All you got to do is hit three of them in a row.
Get an opponent to a decently high percent, Up Throw, then get underneath and unleash the Up Strongs. Might take a few attempts since the arrow hitbox is tiny but it's not too bad.

Olympia 🔮
Image
Achievement
Description
The Shimmering Somersault
Get a spike KO with Olympia's Up air

Olympia's Up air has a spike hitbox near the end of the attack. Up Throw can combo into Up Air, but it might be a little bit tricky to get the spike hitbox

Image
Achievement
Description
Double Terminated
As Olympia, crystalize the opponent while they're already crystalized

This one took me a few times to find a good setup. What I did was first throw Olympia's Crystal so it is hovering a decent distance above the opponent. Then, grab the opponent and special pummel to crystalize them. Then Up Throw the opponent into the Crystal range. You should be able to hit Special again to blow up the crystal, thus crystalizing them a second time.
--- Arcade Mode ---
To get these achievements you have to beat Arcade Mode on hard with every character. This is a tough one. There is no time requirement so you can keep retrying until you get it. Also you get 2000 character exp the first time you complete a difficulty. Not to mention the exp you get simply from throwing yourself at the final boss over and over again 🙃

--- Character Level Ups ---
Hit Level 20 with all characters. FFA gives 50% normal exp and if you have a friend, do 2v2 with them. They give about 250 exp per match.

Friendly Symbiosis
Play a 2v2 online match with a friend

Another easy one if you have a friend. Head into online mode and create a lobby. Then invite your friend. From there you should be able to queue into a 2v2 match!

I have heard that queueing this way may take some time, since not many people play 2v2. Your best bet might be to try during peak times around 8pm EST

Are achievements just not wanting to unlock sometimes? Despite doing the Olympia spike and Ranno up b requirements that got me kills, no achievement unlock. And I've done Zetterburn's triple shine in 1 sec a few times before as a Zetter main so I don't know what's up with it
Jett Altair  [author] 23 Apr @ 5:56am
@homeyworkey, The setup I did was: Training room, place cpu on the rightmost side of the stage, jump onto top platform, throw crystal to the right so the center is aligned with the cpu, Grab, Special Pummel, Up throw, Neutral Special to explode the crystal.

If that is still not working for you try increasing the dummy percent to about 50, that might let them travel more before they break out

i cant do olympia's double terminated with ur setup. i do wonder if a patch made ur set up not work???

@smurbo you might not be doing the inputs fast enough. Thats what was messing me up for a long time. Try checking out this video which is the Official Orcane 101 Launch Tutorial . It visually shows what the Orca Hop should look like. Maybe that will help a little bit more
