2024 Australian Spec MP8 and new MP11 engines and mDrive pack for SCS MACK Anthem and Pinnacle

Mack Trucks Australia has announced its most powerful diesel engine yet, as well as standard safety as all new Euro 6 range revealed. A new range of Mack drivetrains has been revealed including an all-new range-topping 780hp 17-litre MP11 engine with 3800Nm of torque.

The Mack Super-Liner has previously held the title of Australia’s most powerful conventional truck for over a decade and has carved out a reputation for power, durability, and efficiency in some of the toughest transport tasks Australia has to offer.

Joining the new big-block engine is a revamped 13-litre eSCR Euro 6 MP8 which, like the rest of the new Euro 6 range, benefits from new low-friction cylinder liners, wave top pistons, a more efficient turbocharger, and a revised electronics system to provide more precise fuel delivery and combustion.

Mack Anthem’s potential as a fuel efficiency champion on the highway has also been given a shot in the arm with the arrival of the new MP8HE (High Efficiency) engine platform. The MP8HE uses turbo-compound technology to scavenge extra energy from the engine’s exhaust flow and then transfer that power directly to the engine crankshaft.

The result is a hefty 2800Nm torque figure, significantly higher than the standard Mack MP8 engine.

HE 500 - 2,065 lb-ft (2800Nm) @ 900 - 1300 rpm
535hp - 1,940 lb-ft (2,630 Nm) @ 1,000 - 1,450 rpm

MP11:
600hp - 2,200 lb-ft (3,000 Nm) @ 900 - 1,400 rpm

mDrive transmissions:

mDrive 12-speed (4 x R)
mDrive HD 13-speed (1 crawler + 4 x R)

MACK Pinnacle

MP8:
