Lombardi

Lombardi belongs to a 2005 Source mod called Front Line Force: Classic, a sequel to the original Front Line Force on GoldSrc. To summarize, Front Line Force is basically Call of Duty 4 before Call of Duty 4 with a bit of Counter-Strike mixed in. Both mods have fallen into obscurity since the 2000s, with Classic never releasing for unknown reasons and as a result becoming lost media. That was, until 19 years later where a build of Classic was posted on ModDB.

I first heard of this mod from Radiation Hazard's video and boy I am so glad I watched it. Not only is it a literal piece of lost history suddenly unearthed out of nowhere, watching its footage gave me a huge rush of nostalgia. I made it my mission to port one of the more finished maps. Lombardi is one of those maps, being a remake of the original Lombardi. The map was a lot more gruesome to clean up and even caused bugs on GMod but that's to be expected.

This version of the map now features AI nodes, a navigation mesh, improved lighting and overall better stability. The visual side of the map, apart from some texture changes remains entirely unaltered. It is really dark and gritty.
