Inspired by the idea of the Dutch Fokker D.XXIII, we take 2 licensed Bf-109Gs, separate the front parts of the fuselages, screw them to each other - and we get the most unusual Hungarian fighter.

Historical Background:
First The concept of a light twin-engine fighter, tested before the war on the Fokker D.XXIII and CAM-13 prototypes, fell into disuse for several years. The warring countries in the period from 1940 to 1943. intensively engaged in the finalization of existing models and they were not up to experiments with promising, but not yet debugged schemes. Hungarian engineers were among the first to return to this idea. At the end of 1942, when the obsolescence of the experimental Weiss Manfred WM-23 fighter became obvious, the Air Force turned its attention to the Marton project. Externally, the X/V fighter (RMI-8) resembled the Dutch D.XXIII very much, with the only difference being that it had a cleaner aerodynamic shape.

Construction of the prototype began in 1943. The fighter was powered by two Daimler-Benz DB-605 engines (1475 hp), which were to provide a maximum speed of at least 580 km/h at design altitude. Armament Marton X\V consisted of two 20-mm cannons and two 12.7-mm machine guns, but on the prototype it was not installed in time. Unlucky for the fighter was April 13, 1944, when the unfinished prototype was destroyed after an American air raid. The wa program was closed that same year, believing it would be best to concentrate efforts on producing licensed Bf.109Gs and Me.210As.

Одними из первых к этой идее вернулись венгерские инженеры. В конце 1942 года, когда стала очевидной устарелость опытного истребителя Weiss Manfred WM-23, ВВС обратили внимание на проект фирмы Marton. Внешне истребитель X/V (RMI-8) очень сильно напоминал голландский D.XXIII, с той лишь разницей, что обладал более чистыми аэродинамическими формами.

Постройку прототипа начали в 1943 году. На истребитель установили два двигателя Daimler-Benz DB-605 (1475 л.с.), которые должны были обеспечить максимальную скорость не менее 580 км\ч на расчетной высоте.
