Description
The war rages on in the surface, but what about the underground? Not much better.

NOTE: This is an older version of the campaign mod, with the original ending being about holding out at the train station and getting on the train to end the map. The newer version with a different ending can be found here on the HL2 workshop, but I currently have no plans on publishing it to the workshop.
BTW, I cannot find any walkthrough videos that cover this version of the mod, for now. This means that whenever you feel stuck, don't feel bad using noclip. Also, if anyone can provide a walkthrough video of this campaign, let me know.

UPDATE: I found a walkthrough video that covers this campaign mod (credit to JetBlueChest). It's not the best, but it should suffice for now (as long as you spawn your own weapons rather than grabbing the campaign's prescribed default weapons as you go). However, if anyone can provide a better walkthrough video of this campaign mod, let me know. The walkthrough video I have posted here happens to be from the new version and not the old version.

WARNING: I am an amateur, casual GModder, since I have only very basic to no knowledge of Hammer and no knowledge at all on how to use VSIF2VCD, which means that this campaign is by no means perfect and has flaws here and there. This would affect your overall experience with it, but it shouldn't stop you from completing it. Any feedback is appreciated.

WARNING #2: When you manually load the second map (tunnel_rat02), you will be immediately greeted by the two trigger-happy Combine soldiers that will gun you down once the door opens right after you spawn. Since you may not be given any weapons upon spawning in the second map, activate no-clip, hide in a place where the Combine cannot see you, spawn yourself some weapons, fly back to the place where you spawned, deactivate noclip (which I recommend doing after you kill both Combine soldiers after the door), and then continue.

WARNING #3: Like in Glacial Assault, the final hold-out at the end (of the second and final map) can be pretty challenging to say the least, as it throws you a gigantic wave of Combine soldiers at you to the point that not even your fellow allies (which you free at the beginning of the second map, if any of them survive) or friendly turrets can save you the pain. As such, you may go all out with your SWEPs or cheese the fight by obstructing the three passageways (that the soldiers take to get towards you) with barrels.

DISCLAIMER: This custom campaign has only been tested in sandbox singleplayer, with the only mods being tested with this map are explosion replacer, MMOD HL2 weapon replacements, ARC9/MWB/TFA/TacRP SWEPs, Combine soldier model replacements, VManip addons, and HUD addons. I'm sorry to say this, but I cannot guarantee the campaign's stability if you use more complex addons (such as the ones that alter NPC's AI) and/or some old SWEPs, along with playing it in multiplayer.

DISCLAIMER #2: This custom HL2 campaign is not mine, as I laid out its original information in the lower part of this description. If the original author wants me to take it down, I'll do so.

Final holdout is annoying stupid. Two turrets can barely handle their areas, and if you die, you have to noclip back, which often is a bad design if you can't make yourself run back into the fight without cheating.

I beat it anyway. Use good sweps and you WILL beat it.

Thanks for your feedback. I even put up a warning that the final holdout on part 2 is pretty difficult in the description just to let other users know.

Pretty good maps, however part 2's ending is less than enjoyable however. The final holdout arena ends up being to small and cramped due to the amount of combine it throws at you. Probably manageable basegame, but if you use mods like F.E.A.R AI it becomes extremely difficult.

Overall 8/10 maps, I just recommend you turn down any AI mods (if you have any) before the final encounter at the train station.

Looking forward the next campaign you publish/release.

@ObjectTeen35 So I did try to play The Gate 2 on GMOD, and it did not go down so well. Some maps require me to finish the previous map beforehand, as directly loading to that map would result in it not working properly. Also, other maps basically softlocked, requiring me to noclip just to get to the next area.

@bagel_monster Did you mount the two or three required games I mentioned in the description to GMOD?
