Operation Highfleet - Battle of Biscay

Kaptian Charlie's 1984-1985 Campaign
17 items
Description
The date is May 30, 1984. Seven months have passed since the conflict began, and Paris has fallen. The remaining French resistance is concentrated in the Brest pocket and along the La Rochelle line. Both sides control a line across the English Channel, making passage nearly impossible without suffering heavy casualties. The Soviet navy has been tasked with seizing the NATO-controlled islands in the Bay of Biscay. However, this mission will face fierce resistance, as remnants of the German navy, along with older French export submarines and the support of U.S. forces, bolster NATO defenses. Civilian vessels are attempting to flee France, while military convoys are focused on defense and escort duties. Commander, you are in charge of Soviet forces for this operation. Your mission: deliver the landing ships undamaged and secure the area with precision and speed.

This operation is very complex (~50 ships) be warned - suggestions are welcome
Side: USSR (PACT)

It was bad idea to make Roputha group leader. It has to be Kiev because it's airwing used very frequently. With Ropucha you need always more action to switch to carrier.
Save doesnt work on this mission. At the end there was 4 FPS :(
Good mission. But with current state of soviet SAM and Harpoons its cant be done from first try. You need prematurely kill all Pegasus (but you need to know where) before they can launch its salvos.
Log says harpoon intercept chance is 0. Only Buk can intercept it with 20% chance. One Pegas can sunk entire battlegroup. Apparently the developers are thinking that Pegasus was removed from military because of Jeneva convension (it was too cruel for enemy fleet)

4h45 into this mission and we're clear of enemies, it would have been quicker but we're currently averaging a huge 1 frame per second. It's a good mission, but with the current state of the game it's pretty unplayable unless you don't mind watching a slideshow. :steamsad:

Ah well then I have committed at least two war crimes tonight. Thanks for the answer :)

@bobjr the game gives the neutral ships a random home nation and the convoy the objective you would attack uses non-commercial ships, those cargo ships are not the objective. hope this helps :)

I don't fully understand the mission secondary objectives. It tells you to be weary of civilian freighters going for Brest, but I see both a American flagged cargo ship and a Norwegian flagged cargo ship (Both NATO countries?) going for Brest but the game marks them both as neutral. Are they the ones you have to bomb or are they just incidental stuff the game spawned in? Very confusing.

Pretty good. Is the enemy Okean-M a bug, or a feature?
