THE ARABIAN FOLLY PT.2 "Tightening the Noose"

"Brothers and sisters of the fleet, the time has come to strike at the lifeline of our enemy. Cyprus stands as a dagger poised to pierce the heart of our movement, but it relies on the steady flow of supplies and reinforcements. We will sever this flow and show the Atlantic Federation the strength of our resolve.

Our forces are divided between two critical positions off the northwest and southwest coasts of Cyprus. Each group has a role to play in enforcing this blockade. Be vigilant, for the enemy will not sit idle. Their task force is expected to include combat vessels, and we have reports of potential subsurface activity. Furthermore, their aircraft may seek to disrupt our operations. Remain focused and use your resources wisely.

All enemy cargo vessels will be marked as hostile, aiding you in identifying legitimate targets. However, this is a heavily trafficked area—civilian freighters and aircraft may be present. Under no circumstances are they to come to harm. Confirm all targets before engaging; a single mistake could unravel our efforts and stain the reputation of our movement.

The Federation believes it can dominate these waters with its technology and arrogance. Prove them wrong. Maintain the blockade. Stop their supplies. And ensure no mercy for those who dare to test our resolve. For the Greater Cause!"



Primary Objectives:
- Enforce a naval blockade off the northwest and southwest coasts of Cyprus.
- Prevent all enemy cargo vessels from breaching the blockade.

Secondary Objectives:
- Neutralize the enemy task force threatening your blockade.
- Eliminate the potential submarine lurking in the area.

Rules of Engagement:
- All enemy cargo vessels are marked as hostile (Opfor).
- Civilian freighters and aircraft are present in the area—do not engage or harm neutral targets. Confirm your targets before opening fire.



Strategic Fleet Coordination:
- Manage two separate naval groups deployed to the northwest and southwest coasts of Cyprus. Balancing their resources and responses to threats is key to maintaining the blockade.

Target Identification and Rules of Engagement:
- Civilian vessels and aircraft in the area complicate operations, requiring careful target verification to avoid collateral damage. Mistakes will carry consequences.

Dynamic Threats:
- Your and the enemy's fleet compositions are partially randomized, with chances for different surface combatants and submarines to appear. Each playthrough may bring varying escort setups, ensuring unpredictability in enemy forces while maintaining consistent mission objectives.



Success: The blockade holds. All enemy cargo vessels are stopped, ensuring Cyprus remains cut off from reinforcements and supplies.

Failure: The blockade is broken, allowing enemy cargo vessels to reach Cyprus and resupply their forces.



Greater Arabia (GA):
Greater Arabia and its military branch the Holy Army of Greater Arabia (HAGA) represent a powerful coalition of Sunni and Shia Muslim nations united under a charismatic leader who claims a divine mission. This faction emerged from a religious resurgence aimed at reclaiming sovereignty over lands perceived as threatened by Western imperialism. They leverage their considerable wealth and military resources to engage in defense and expansion efforts, striving to reshape the political landscape in the Middle East and unify the Muslim world under a common cause.

The Atlantic Federation (TAF):
The Atlantic Federation is a strategic alliance comprising most Western European and North American nations, focused on maintaining geopolitical stability and countering emerging threats. In response to aggressive moves from the Eastern Sovereignty Alliance and the Holy Army of Greater Arabia, they engage in coordinated military operations to protect their interests and promote a liberal democratic order. With a robust military infrastructure and advanced technology, the Federation aims to deter adversaries and uphold their values in an increasingly multipolar world.



The Ascension Wars is my personal worldbuilding project, blending inspiration from Ace Combat, Project Wingman, and one too many Arma 3 operations. It features maniacal warlords, intense military campaigns, and a mix of narrative-driven missions in DCS and Sea Power.
