Welcome to Part 1 of the Cold Tide: Baltic Flashpoint Campaign – Operation Steel Shield.

The year is 1988, and the Cold War has reached a boiling point in the Baltic Sea. NATO is determined to maintain control of critical supply routes, but Soviet forces are growing increasingly aggressive. In this first mission, you are tasked with escorting a vital U.S. supply convoy through the treacherous Gulf of Finland to the port of Helsinki.

With neutral civilian vessels and hostile patrols crisscrossing the area, your ability to distinguish friend from foe will be tested. Complicating matters, Soviet reconnaissance aircraft are monitoring the region, and any hostile action may provoke an immediate counterstrike. Stay alert, and remember: collateral damage is not an option.

This mission sets the stage for a larger campaign exploring the strategic challenges of NATO operations in the Baltic Sea.
