TSO - Twin-Blade Wind Turbine Upgrade

Description
TSO - Twin-Blade Wind Turbine Upgrade

Add Stackable Twin-Blade Wind Turbine in 3x3x3 and 5x5x5, Twin-Blade Wind Turbine 3x3x3,
Twin-Blade Wind Turbine with 3x Output 5x5x5 and 3x Output Stackable 5x5x5.

6 New blocks.

Features:
  • Stackable Twin-Blade Wind Turbine in 3x3x3 and 5x5x5
  • Small Twin-Blade Wind Turbine 3x3x3 (size of vanilla wind turbine)
  • 5x5x5 Stackable Twin-Blade Wind Turbine
  • 3x Output 5x5x5 Twin-Blade Wind Turbine
  • 3x Output 5x5x5 Stackable Twin-Blade Wind Turbine

  • Large Group Integration
  • LODs
  • Build States
  • Blueprints for large block tab in Assembler
  • Progression

I made this mod because the Twin-Blade Wind Turbine from the Decorative 3 DLC seemed
to have some disadvantages over vanilla Wind Turbine.

The Twin-Blade Turbine size is 5x5x5 compared to the vanilla 3x3x3 with volume that is
4.6x more than the vanilla wind turbine but the power outputs and build costs are the same.

I created the Small 3x3x3 to to match the size, output, and build cost of the vanilla Wind Turbine.

I created a 3x output (1.2 MW) Twin-Blade Turbine with a 2x build cost to make up for the size
difference over the vanilla wind turbine (400 kW).

I have for years enjoyed the various mods that add stacked versions of the vanilla wind turbine.

One such stackable wind turbine mod is MA Stackable Wind Turbine

So I created stacked versions of the 3x3x3, 5x5x5 and 3x output 5x5x5.

The build costs are slightly increased.

Build Costs

  • Small 3x3x3 - same as vanilla Twin-Blade Wind Turbine
  • Small 3x3x3 - same as vanilla Twin-Blade Wind Turbine + 2 extra motors
  • 5x5x5 Stackable - same as vanilla Twin-Blade Wind Turbine + 2 extra motors
  • 3x Output 5x5x5 - double cost of vanilla Twin-Blade Wind Turbine
  • 3x Output 5x5x5 Stackable - double cost of vanilla Twin-Blade Wind Turbine + 2 extra motors

@TK_Over50 - Just tested a world with this mod. I am unable to see this. What other mods do you have installed? Try a world with just this mod.

Hey TSO, if you're not working on them already, do you think you might be able to make some variants of the new console blocks in different shapes/configurations? Would be especially useful in small grid for getting that real cockpit aesthetic. Extra variants for the large grid floodlights would also be greatly appreciated, as well.

@TheSlaveOne, Ya, I pulled a DUH Ralph on this one. I was too close to the problem. hehehe Sometimes you just have to step back and try again. :steamfacepalm:

@Frogmaster - I am unable to reproduce your issue.
I tested with both my local and published versions ( just incase I did not publish any changes)
I used BuildVision using the overlays (cnt + +)
I think you were just trying to place them too close together.
I would suggest trying the vanilla ones just like you were trying before.
You should see the same issue.

@Frogmaster - Which block? Like the vanilla ones the 5x5x5 only mounts to the center block as well as the 3x3x3 one. I will look to see if I can reproduce this?
Frogmaster 21 Nov, 2024 @ 5:56pm
Interesting but, how do you actual place them in the game? Every time I try they DO NOT attach to the grid.
