In 1989, under the cover of an exercise called West-89, the Soviet Union launched a massive attack on Europe, completely defeating the unprepared NATO coalition and rampaging all the way. By June, France had been successfully captured, and the only countries left except Britain were Denmark and Spain, which had just begun to attack.

On the other side of the ocean, in the peaceful United States, the North American Fleet Command received intelligence that there might be several KGB spy ships in the offshore anchorage of New York City. Therefore, the Los Angeles-class submarine was ordered to conduct a secret investigation and carry out a quick strike.

However, all this seems not so simple...
